Nestled in downtown Venice, Florida, Upper Crust Cafe & Bakery is a charming French oasis serving breakfast and lunch seamlessly blending allure with culinary excellence. As a devoted patron, I've delighted in an array of offerings, yet it's their Lox & Cream Cheese Bagel that beckons me to extol its virtues – an unparalleled delight, embodying the epitome of bagel sandwich perfection. The crustless quiche, a culinary masterpiece, exudes sublime moistness, coupled with an irresistible cheesiness that tantalizes the taste buds. Bursting with flavor, it stands as a testament to the cafe's commitment to crafting dishes that transcend the ordinary. Amidst the indulgence, the irresistible ambience creates an enchanting backdrop, making each bite a culinary symphony. The classic and crabcake Benedict, two offerings of astonishingly delicious proportions, further elevate the dining experience, showcasing the cafe's dedication to culinary mastery. The friendly and attentive service only adds to the charm, creating an atmosphere where every dish is a celebration. No sojourn to Upper Crust Cafe & Bakery is complete without indulging in the chocolate croissants – a symphony of flaky layers enveloping rich, velvety chocolate. Each bite is an exquisite journey, a testament to the cafe's dedication to delivering treats that are nothing short of excellent. And for those who appreciate the art of coffee, their cappuccino, though I am not a coffee drinker, is a refined delight. In essence, Upper Crust Cafe & Bakery is a culinary gem in the heart of Venice, where every dish narrates a story of meticulous craftsmanship, and a passion for flavors that linger on the palate. The irresistible ambience, coupled with the friendly, attentive service, elevates it to a haven for connoisseurs who appreciate the artistry of French cuisine executed to perfection.

So, we're new to Florida, we're transplants from Utah, and we wanted to try a new place in Venice. Google recommend this restaurant for a breakfast bite. It was great! The food was good, our waitress was very friendly and attentive, the ambiance of the establishment was on the rustic, antique site. Also very clean. I really enjoyed my Smoked Salmon Hash here, the taste was new to me but very enjoyable! My two sausages that I ordered on the side we're quite larger than I expected, but still very high quality. Everything tasted fresh and nothing was overly greasy. Being in my early 40s we were the youngest people there, so be prepared to feel a our of place if you're younger than 40. My wife and I also enjoyed a very large eclair there, after breakfast, and it was good. After tasting of the awesome food there, I was expecting a little more flavors from the eclair, but definitely wasn't bad. My only real gripe was the serving sizes of the meals. They are a little on the small side for me. But I'm also 6'3 and weigh about 240lbs, so take that as you like. Also my second complaint, which is a small one, is that the entrance/waiting area is VERY narrow as it's only about 3-4 ft from the bakery display. So, if your waiting in line for a seat, and there's people waiting to be attended by the baker next to the display, you're practically touching shoulders with those people looking I to the display. But, that's all small potatoes (pun intended) compares to the taste and service experience.

What a great choice to eat brunch here. We were walking along, checking out historic Venice before heading out of town. We thought we should grab a bite before getting on the road and when we searched “breakfast” this is the first place to come up. It was only a few hundred feet away, so we decided to check out the menu. I like that they serve breakfast until noon, and lunch starts at 11. Some of my family wanted breakfast, while some were ready for lunch. I was happy with the large selection of salads. I went with the pan seared tuna salad. It was big and delicious! It came with a small croissant. My husband, daughter, and daughter in law all got the crumb cake. They were much bigger than they expected. My oldest daughter got a crab cake sandwich with homemade potato chips. It was all amazing! She didn’t think she was that hungry until she started eating it. She finished the entire thing. Her and I also shared the mimosa special of 2 for $9. I got the peach Bellini and she got the cranberry and fizz. Mine was better. My middle daughter got the ham and cheese quiche. It came with a small croissant and fresh fruit. She gave me a bite and It was really good! We ended up with a to-go box of half a crumb cake and 2 croissants, and one for my large salad. In total our bill was only $64 for 6 people! Not bad at all! Great service from our waitress, Emily. We look forward to eating here again on our next visit to Venice.

In simplicity, the customer service was appallingly subpar. Customer service is just as important to me as the food quality that a restaurant has to dish out. It makes or breaks whether or not I will go back to the restaurant and I will not be going back to Upper Crust Cafe without question. There are much better restaurants to discover with uber-friendlier service and tastier food located along Venice Island's main street.

Long story, I stopped there once to have breakfast with my son outside in one of the umbrella shaded tables and told the waitress inside beforehand I was going to be sitting outside there, so they can be aware and come take our order. After waiting 15 minutes (and also know the joint wasn't even close to having a busy full house then), I decided to head back in to gently remind them we were outside. The waitress finally came with apologies and took our order. The food was served in a timely manner by a young waiter who wordlessly just plopped down our food and disappeared without giving us any utensils or our drinks. I had to go back inside and ask for our drinks and utensils. The eggs and turkey bacon my son ordered were quite noticeably and without exaggeration dripping with grease and the fruit tart. I ordered a crab cake benedict, which was very salty, but getting past the saltiness of it, was admittedly somewhat tasty. After breakfast, I went inside to get the check and the woman behind the cashier counter said to just wait for my waitress, whom I haven't even seen since she took our order. I sat down back outside with my son and chatted away, but after 10 or so minutes the waitress was a no show. I had to ask another waitress serving the other table next to mine to get our check, which she eventually did. My only consolation for regrettably going here was that I did not decide to give out an...
