Green Parrot Gift Shop — Local services in Venice

My family and I went in today and had just 2 books marks to purchase apparently they were closing. The sign on the door said 5:30 and it was only 4. We walked in at 3:50. We were only in the store 5 mins. We were almost done as we'd made our way through the store when a elder woman stopped us and said " you know we are closing " I said " oh is it after 5? The sign on the door says5:30" she then says" it's a holiday, you need to leave we are closing" it was memorial day but there were 2 people at the door when we came in smiling and talking to us and said nothing about them closing in 10 mins, no sign indicating they were closing early. My daughter and I put our book marks back and I told my husband we had to leave, they were closing and then the people working near the door said " what are they leaving" and the elder lady said " yes, I told them to go we are closed " she was so rude to everyone including the others there. So bad I won't be going back. I've been in this shop several times. It's not giant. We had went through thebhole.store in 5 mins and we're ready to leave and we still had 5 mins left until closing according to her. Wanting to support our local shops in town during COVID19 we decided we would go to The Green Parrot to purchase a few Mother’s Day gifts. It saddens me to say I probably will not go back again, which is a shame as we are locals and like taking visitors into town to shop our stores. After entering the store and not being acknowledged by either one of the two clerks, we noticed neither workers waring a mask (which I guess we are learning to each his own) but being a business that has been closed for weeks due to the virus I would have thought there would have been more of a consideration to do whatever it takes to make your customers that want to support you feel safe and comfortable while shopping. If everyone would realize you wearing a mask isn’t to protect you it’s to protect others you are around. This was a big deal because within a minute of entering the store the cashier was coughing, and continued to cough a very nasty cough. Needless to say we turned right around and left and due to the owners lack of consideration for their customers we most likely...

Went in with the intention to buy a large shark tooth, willing to spend up to $200..I asked the older lady at the counter if they were real or replica...after about ten seconds, she said they are real...I inquired about a price, and after another 10 seconds, she actually raised up her hand and waved for me to move on...actually made a waving motion for me to move...my son bought a shirt at the other register and was treated rudely as well...I am 52 years old and have NEVER been treated this bad in my entire life. I hope the lady who I am referring to, gets to read this and perhaps have a change of heart in her job. DO NOT SHOP OR WASTE YOUR TIME at this...
