Art's Corner Cafe — Restaurant in Ventura

What a hidden jewel...My favorite stops in Ventura did not open until 8am and I wanted to eat at 7am prior to traveling back home up North!!! So a quick Google maps search sent me to Art's Corner Cafe!!! WOWZA!!! lucky me & my pops!!! It is obvious this is a diner frequented by local regulars!!! It was warm and welcoming!! PAULA is as charming and old-school as it gets for a waitress. She didn't miss a beat at taking care of all the diners efficiently and oh so personable and friendly!! THE BOSS OUGHT TO GIVE HER A RAISE👍😄 THE FOOD!!! Ohhh yessss!!! Home cooking at it's finest, no gimmicks, just delicious ample servings!!! My pop was in the food biz years ago, hard man to impress!!! He gave 5 stars down the board!!!! We were the first to arrive at 7am, the place soon filled up!! This was a Monday!!! Parking lot is small, but street parking seems to be available!! Art's is simple and clean, no gimmicks here, just good old fashioned food and service💖👍😎 My eggs and ground beef patty were cooked to perfection, yolks poured out nicely on top of my meat patty!!! SO YUMMY!! My pop had eggs, tators, toast & sausage!! He was very impressed with the O'Brien Fried tators!! Breakfast fried tators with green peppers and onions fried into them!! Coffee was a delightful cup of Joe☕👍Prices were very reasonable and not jacked up like the fancy "hot spots" around town!! I look forward to coming to try their lunch, dinner & beer on tap next time I come to Ventura!!! Thank you Art's for a wonderful breakfast...

Living in ventura my entire life and having never tried Arts was truly a disappointment to me. Today my boyfriend and I were i. search for something to eat but i wanted something sweet and he wanted savory - I suggested we try Arts Corner Cafe so we hopped in the car and went. As soon as we got there we saw a line out the door, we found parking (which is a little difficult because of the location of the restaurant but not impossible) and headed inside to put our names down. The owner was the one doing the waitlist and he very kindly and quickly got us out in the waitlist and told us 25 minutes, they have the Toast system that texts your phone when your table is ready and shows you how many people are in line ahead of you and behind you which was nice to see. Our table was ready in about 20 minutes, we went inside and the owner walked us to our table and gave us menus. The service was amazing to say the least, our waitress - a tall young woman with tattoos on her arms - was so kind and attentive, she very quickly got our drink order in, then our drinks out to us. Our food only took about 15 minutes to come out and it was amazing. I got strawberry chocolate chip waffles and my boyfriend got the nashville sando which was stacked with chicken and packed with flavor. This place is the epitome of a diner. Everything we had was excellent and done exactly as ordered.

I had the two egg breakfast with chicken fried style chicken(fried chicken in gravy). My dining companion had the breakfast sandwich.

Coffee was really good...not typical weak diner coffee. I take mine black so it really has to be good for me to remember it.

My breakfast was HUGE! I would recommend splitting this breakfast, especially if you order to go as we did, because it is so much food. Instead of a breakfast size portion of chicken breast(half a small breast) it is a huge, pounded down full boneless chicken breast (both halves) covered in gravy. The eggs were done medium as ordered and the hash browns were extra crispy, as ordered. The biscuit & gravy(an option vs toast for no up charge) was excellent with a light fluffy biscuit in a nice white gravy. I have only one, tiny, criticism on this entire order and it is I prefer a little more meat or sausage crumble in my gravy. That said, still delightful!

My dining companion said the breakfast sandwich was good but 'nothing special.' She had some of my hash browns and my chicken and liked mine better.

Can't say much about service as we ordered 'to go' or carry out but the ordering process is easy online so 5☆...
