Whew... This is going to be a bumpy ride. If I could give this place negative stars I would.
Drove over from la yesterday for our anniversary (January 12, 2019). Popped in here around 4:30 pm and we were rushing out of there by no later than 5:30 pm. We were hoping to have a small bite and enjoy the sunset. Absolutely the opposite. The man in the pictures I am attaching took our order and brought it to us where we were sitting (bar type area). No one wears name tags so a picture it is. He was rude from jump. That was whatever; people are like that everywhere. When he brought our food, his behavior actually shocked me so much I started laughing. He took my metal salad bowl and literally tossed it down on the table top. It made a sound and started to spin around. He continued to skid and toss two metal trays and another salad bowl at us. The other part was the napkins. I am not exaggerating in the least bit. He took the napkins and THREW them from the left of us in between the two of us. THREW THEM down. We were finally getting out of this place. Stood up getting jackets on and all of the sudden someone is trying to push past. (There was a large party at the large table behind us. They were taking a lot of family group photos too. Good for them, I love that part. Remember we are at the bar that looks at the pier) Who was it? This guy! This man was absolutely above and beyond rude.
I'm not sure if he had an issue waiting on gay people or if he is rude to everyone. I can definitely say, we were certainly made to feel we were not welcome there..... We've had our share of experiences and this was one of them. We will not return.
There were many employees standing around talking while many of the tables were dirty. People were having a hard time finding seats because of it.
The bathroom was disgusting.
I will say my side salad had a wonderful mix in it. The vinaigrette was not for me. Don't expect the utensils you need. Don't ask for them haha.
I am very happy I did not pre-tip in this place. I'm not going give money to this behavior. To a place that allows its employees to treat other human beings this way. When you are a perfectly nice, properly behaving customer trying to enjoy a meal and a sunset... There is no reason for...

If you're searching for a quintessential California experience, look no further than this gem perched right on the pier with waves lapping at its feet. From the moment you step inside, the salty air and sun-drenched vibe wash over you, prepping you for a tastebud triumph.
Let's dive into the real stars of the show: the seafood. The fish tacos are an explosion of flavor - perfectly grilled, flaky fish nestled in warm tortillas with a symphony of fresh toppings like pico de gallo, cilantro, and a vibrant crema that had me ordering extras. The fish sandwich is another masterpiece - a generous portion of beer-battered goodness on a toasted bun, drizzled with a tangy tartar sauce that had me reminiscing about childhood fish fries (in the best way possible!). And of course, the fish and chips? Crispy, golden fries paired with melt-in-your-mouth fish that practically swam onto my plate. Each bite was a testament to the quality ingredients and skilled cooking.
But the culinary magic doesn't stop there. Head upstairs to the tap room, where the ocean view takes center stage and the craft beer selection is guaranteed to impress. I savored a crisp IPA while watching surfers tackle the impressive point break just beyond the pier, the spray catching the sunlight like diamonds. It was the perfect way to cap off a truly epic meal.
The staff deserves a standing ovation too. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their food and the local scene, they made us feel like welcome guests in their beachside haven.
So, if you're craving fresh seafood, stunning views, and a laid-back vibe with a touch of craft beer magic, this place is your oyster (or should I say, fish taco?). I give it a resounding 5 stars and will definitely be back for another round (or ten!) soon. Just make sure to bring your appetite and your sense of adventure - you're in...
Read moreYou can read my first review below. Right now I need to update to tell an unforgettable story: On Sat Dec 14th I visited the restaurant along with my wife and a friend. Naturally I had my beloved Steamer Bowl and somehow my wedding band ended up falling from my finger into the bowl. I only realized it happened a little later, already on my way back home in LA. My wife called the restaurant and a girl answered the phone explaining they were busy at that time with a large party, but they would check it later and call back if found. We were both sure it was lost, because once you have leftovers from shellfish, we assume you just toss it away. I was beyond sad... we got this band on our 20th anniversary... it is really special. For our surprise, next day we were watching TV and my wife noticed she had a missing call with a message. She called back and it was Rob... St Rob... he heard the metallic clink, found the ring, hold it and called us. We couldn't believe it. We hopped in the car and headed up immediately. That was beyond amazing. After thanking him a lot, I tried giving him a little token of our appreciation which he strongly refused saying he was just doing what he supposed to do. I really can't thank him enough for this classy lesson of how friendly and caring customer service can be. And OF COURSE we will continue returning... after all... I LOVE my bowl...
This is our 2nd time at this place and both times we were amazed with the freshness and taste of the food. I don't like the counter service - I prefer table service, but food is so damn good that I can live...
