Moofish Cafe’ — Restaurant in Ventura

Rude hostess in the front from the get go, and seems she was also a server but spent a lot of her time on her phone at the stand, or just standing around. Took 20 minutes to get our drinks. I loved the hustle of the older female server in the grey shirt who had an adorable speed walk/jog trying her best to help everyone.

Unfortunately, our table was never touched once after our getting our drinks, and we sat for about an 1hr 45min for the dueling pianos. Even another table i could see was very upset with the younger hostess/server because he also waited about 20 minutes to get his drink and finally take his food order; he was visibly upset. It's unfortunate to say, but that was the worst front of house service I've experienced. I can tell the older female server in the grey shirt has great work ethic, especially when compared to the younger server in the black shirt who seemed to be a terrible mis match for front of house.

The food is just not good... we got the nachos and the classic burger, and they were just bad. We figured out one of the reasons the flavor was off on both of them was the meat was probably cooked either on the same grill/pan/etc as seafood, so it had a strange beef seafood flavor. Both my husband and I love seafood, and we're not particularly picky, but this was just not good food. The French fries were great, the service was good, the dueling pianos was kind of weird and LOUD. We sat outside, and it was still really freakin loud and, at best, hokey.

We ordered the two meals, one Sam Adams bottled beer, a mojito (also really bad), and a scotch on the rocks. Bill was $87, plus tip.

Go somewhere else,...

I asked for a medium rare steak, and this was clearly a medium. Not to mention this was a dead center cut, the rest of the steak was well done. The two sides I ordered were both horribly under seasoned. Mash potatoes tasted like plain starch. The kind you get out of a box of instant potato. The veggies looked normal yet tasted watered down without seasoning. Highly disappointed by a 40$ meal. I even asked the waiter if they had a chef in the kitchen, and he replied yes. I was shocked they are paying someone for this. I'm sure fast food knows how to make better seasoned food than this. Besides the food it was great service, the waiter was relaxed and checking on me often. I hope my tip goes...
