Nestled in the downtown Ventura's El Jardin Courtyard (451 E. Main St.), a few blocks from the beach and just off Main Street, Palm & Boy (Stoked Coffee's new name) has great espresso, avocado toast, cappuccinos, friendly (mostly), easy-going staff, and fabulous acai bowls! We were evacuated during the December fires & this was our shelter from the storm, for morning coffee & avocado toast (with arugula, lemon salt & red pepper flakes). The courtyard is beautiful. While waiting for your order, take time to view the artistic mosaic tile work that remains in front of the store just down the courtyard from Palm & Boy. Done years ago, by talented, Ventura-based, Serbian artist, Ksenia McEuen, it always captures my eye. Then take a look at the Toulouse-Lautrec mural in the stairway hall, painted years ago by now deceased artist, Seco. By the time you're done viewing the art, your breakfast/cappuccino should be ready! There are always nice people sitting close by, so be ready to strike up a conversation with another beach combing diner, or just enjoy the Euro-feel courtyard in the...

Owner Jaime is an amazing woman business owner. She’s kind, passionate about her little niche and always greets her customers with a smile and a big hello! The entire staff have always been top notch as they were on my visit Monday 19 August 2024. Service was prompt and efficient.
My most recent visit was with my husband. We both enjoyed a STOKE Açaí bowl, mine with the added peanut butter. Being vegan, I always appreciate a place I can get a yummy protein breakfast!
We always try to bring our own mugs and on this visit I had a tasty cold brew and my husband had a chai tea latte. We had them made with almond ‘milk’ as they were out of our usual choice of oat ‘milk’.
The location is perfecto! In the cutest little El Jardin Courtyard. A few patio tables are spread near the entrance where you walk up and order. No table service.
Prices are fair and competitive with other local businesses. The menu has many other options for bowls and toasts. I just seem to be addicted to the same menu item and I love to get STOKE(d) at...
Read morePalm and boy formerly known as stoke. This was my first visit here and first thing that stands out is the narrow alley its nestled in which is brick and vines. It has an almost garden like feel walking up. The shop is tiny there were 3 people sitting enjoying their drink and food and there was no additional room for sitting inside,it was maxed out already. There are small bistro tables in the walkway you can sit at if the inside is maxed. We ordered a vanilla latte and cappuccino both of which were good with great balance of milk and espresso. The wife got the stoke acai bowl and I ordered the og avo toast. The bowl was massive with good acai base and plenty of granola, fresh fruit and honey. The avocado was laid on thick from crust to crust on a multi grain slice of bread with arugula and cherry tomatoes with salt pepper and lemon squeezed on top it was a...
