Food is okay, $3 for a small $1.50 taco. Small bag of chips is also $3 dollars. They used to have the tortilla chips self serve but now they're charging even if you dine in. I understand the changes to maximize earnings but you would expect the food to be really worth it. Food is passable and the meat has no seasoning except the al pastor, that's still pretty decent. Fries are also bland no seasoning. If you want to get the most bag for your buck get a fat asada burrito for $12 or asada fries for $13, that's about it honestly nothing else really catches the eye.
Menu is outdated, no prices and it seems like at times they're just making up prices on the fly if you make adjustments to the order. They have a good selection of fountain drinks and glass bottle drinks, sadly 3 large drinks is $12? Yeah I'm not sure who's approving the botched pricing but they need to get checked again. Horchata is not fresh and is from a package, sad to see a "authentic" Mexican spot with is signature hits. The salsa is ok but seems watered down as the day ends.
The servers and service was perfect but they did have issues bringing out the the food when the party exceeds 6 people. They eventually got it right after a few back and forth trips. The place is nice, clean, simple and cooled with AC so that's 5 stars right there.
If you're near by give it a shot, you might like what I didn't. Just keep an eye on the receipt.
Overall, a passable place to go, hope to see improvements...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Tacos Mendoza for a lot of years even with all the owner changes the food has always stayed the same….. Delicious
Food is always ready in 10 mins. from phone order even when they are busy.
Best tacos in Ventura County. I’m going to let everyone in on a couple of the best off the menu items.
Kids burritos are $2 only spot that has them and the are perfect size for the kids.
Sopes, best I’ve ever had or ever will have. I stand by that statement. The masa is cooked perfectly not rubbery like other places. The sope is a meal in itself for $4.16 comes with beans , meat of your choice, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, sour cream, guacamole.
The cost to feed a family here is less than eating at any fast food place. Why have fake food that takes longer than real food that is made fast?
Thank you Taco Mendoza for quality food at...
Read moreMost food is ok, but their Albondigas is so bad that I cannot give them more than 2 stars. Albondigas is a staple of good Mexican food and their version is, by far, the most flavorless, laziest, awful version I've ever tasted. The broth is awful and that's a big deal. The vegetables they chose to add are HUGE cuts, and many of the vegetable choices are weird and nothing I've ever seen in other versions of albondigas. Never in my life have I had Albondigas with TONS of cabbage. To make matters worse, the meatballs are somehow overcooked and just plain awful.
Frankly, it tasted like someone who has never had Albondigas soup tried to make their own recipe and I paid $14 for the privilege to try such an awful version. I liked Tacos Mendoza before this, but there is no excuse for how AWFUL...
