Over $30 for an Italian Beef, Cheese Fry, Drink Cup, Chicago Dog, and an order of Spanikopita (Spinich Pie). There is also an Ice Cream counter but we didn't order any.
Only 2 guys were working on the Sunday I stopped by, one was cleaning and the other was cooking. Cleaning guy took my order and the wait wasn't much more than I'd expect for what was ordered.
The interior is 50's/60's American Diner. The walls painted with Greasers, Classic Cars, Women, etc. The restaurant was empty except one family who came in for ice cream and me.
The Italian Beef was quite flavorful and soaked with juice, but after a few bites I realized that it was to cover for the incredibly dry (overcooked) and also allegedly I got both the larger Beef Sandwich and also with garlic bread for a bun, but there was no visible garlic bread that I could see under the beef and also the sandwich seemed quite regular despite being 50% more beef from the regular to the Big Beef.
The cheese for the fries was very much a specific food service processed cheese Sauce, which for a place that isn't about their cheese, that's expected, but still dissapointing. There were however a reasonable amount of fries included for the price.
From what my partner told me, the Spanikopita was pretty good and the Chicago Dog was better than Portillos, at least that's how they...
Read moreDuring my lunch break, I placed an online order for pick. Yes, I drove a little out of the way. When I get there, and yes, you have to wait in line for your pick-up order, I was told my order was canceled. Fine, I no longer have time to wait for food to be prepared. When I get back to my vehicle, I doubt check and, no there is no text or email that i was told was sent to inform me the order was canceled. I called and spoke with John Ted to ask when my $21 will return to my account. All his answers are probably, and he doesn't really know any answers to my questions. I ask who is the person in charge who can answer my questions. John states no one, they are out of town, and he was unable to give me any contact information for this person. I try to support small businesses, but it's unacceptable not to have customers' service systems or procedures to assist customers if something goes wrong. Like not even offer a cup of ice for my inconvenience. I have to contact my bank, I suppose, in order to get my money back. I'm definitely not happy with anything about Bo-Bo's Gyros in Vernon Hills...
Read morePlaced an order for delivery using grubhub and Ordered the 2/3 lb cheeseburger special with fries and a pepsi and the cod fish sandwich combo with fries and a pink lemonade and coffee flavored packed ice cream for my wife. Restaurant called to let us know they had run out of coffee flavored ice cream and asked if we wanted to substitute another flavor and we said strawberry. When r order arrived it was missing the ice cream even though the restaurant called us and both drinks were wrong. I asked for Pepsi and got Root beer, my wife asked for Pink lemonade and got iced tea.
So i called the restaurant and the woman i spoke to was rude and kept making excuses. When i asked to speak to the manager she told me that the manager wasn't there and that it was just her and the cook.
Ive been in the customer service industry for over 30yrs and I've never heard of not having a manager on duty, but after reading some of the reviews i can c that this place does it...
