In the modern world of fancy coffee beverages whether hot or cold, Starbucks seems to come to most people's minds but in the end it really is what you like.
I actually started drinking cold canned coffee at the age of 9 growing up a US navy brat in Yokosuka, Japan. I arrive in the states in Nov. '87 and walk up to the nearest coffee shop at O'Hare airport and ask for iced coffee; they haven't a clue what the heck I'm talking about.
Anyways I've always wondered if there's certain people out there that drink Starbucks because they actually like the taste or is it a status thing being if you hang around the popular coffee shop then you've got class.
I do stop in from time to time at a Starbucks if in the mood for something specific or if one of my family requests to stop at a location.
While browsing Hawthorne I rarely stop for coffee whether iced or hot but indeed usually end up at Chill Bubble Tea.
Gloria Jean's and I date back to the early 90s when Gurnee Mills opened which was the first time I heard of GJs. Popped in & out of there a few times over the years and sadly they left the mall guessing maybe.....15 years ago?
If they make a delicious quality coffee drink such as a macchiato, espresso, frappé type or whatever it is you love then it doesn't matter who it is whether Starbucks, Gloria Jean's, Caribou, Dutch Bros, Hansa Roasters, etc. Remember, it's what YOU like.
Stopped in not long ago and got a Mint Chocolate Bomb I think it was called, awesome! Venue was clean, pricing seemed reasonable and customer service...

The Employees their are oblivious to what is going on with their environment in the work place, and honestly it appears that they all have the IQ of a first grader. Some young, petite clueless broad messed are order up 3 consecutive times in a row. Another time I asked for a cup of ICE water. 3 mins go by; still patiently waiting. The employee returns again and asks word for word, “ Would you like Ice in your Ice water?” ???????¿¿¿ Worst of all we had an employee acccuse me (the customer who is coming in to this establishment to spend my money) claim that I come in and “cause trouble” due to me being upset from getting the wrong order over and over again for something I didn’t ask for. ????? These employees need an education and some simplistic course teaching common sense 101. Quality of the coffe is fantastic, but these insensible employees that work their ruin the whole experience and will only just give you a hard time. Please be aware that if you plan on coming here to get coffee, MAKE SURE YOU SAY YOUR ORDER VERY SLOOOWLY, so that maybe these workers can comprehend exactly what it is you want...
Read moreToday me and my friends were at the mall and wanted to get a drink, when we got our drinks one of my friends can’t have coffe and she did ask for no coffee in the drink but they gave her coffee in it and the she asked to get her drink without coffee in it ( and like I said she did ask for no coffee in it ) and then this guy that worked there asked her if she wanted this certain drink and she said no but guess what he did? He made her the wrong drink! What a surprise and then she said that this wasn’t her drink and they all got made like it was her fault but it wasn’t and I was there the whole time and I heard every thing that was going on, but anyways like I said they all got mad and you could see it by the way they made that drink like for example the guy was just throwing everything around like a maniac and I was like to her “ they need to ack like adults and need to stop fussing over one drink that they couldn’t get right so” and even the manger had a nasty look one his face when he look at us so that’s way I get this...
