I wish I lived next door so I could sleepily walk over without needing to drive and have my first cup of coffee and best biscuit and gravy I have ever had... My sister came to stay a few days from Orlando a couple of weeks ago. I took her here for breakfast. We shared the biscuit and gravy. Also ordered two sorghum lattes. Loved every bit of all of it. We sat a little while, ate... sipped... talked... and the next morning guess where she wanted to go? Yep... Alabama Biscuit Co. She said "I want that biscuit and gravy again!!!" Well, we live way out in Westover, so.... went somewhere closer which will remain nameless. We had a biscuit n gravy at this other place that was closer.... but all we could think about was the best biscuit and gravy we have ever had at Alabama Biscuit and Co. The best. Our Fave. Love everything about this place. The Sylacauga white marble on the long community table, the cozy nook in each window, the super friendly employees, the coffee, the FOOD. Yep, it's a little more expensive... but left a very good impression .... Yum. A biscuit without lard or shortening in the deep South?.... Yes, please. &...
Read moreI live near this new place and go in about once a month or so. It's a pretty store, located in the former Primavera coffee space. Decor is warm, nice, and classy but not prissy. I had the ham & cheese biscuit and a cup of coffee. You can get a quick breakfast to go here, but probably better to go when you have enough time to sit for a bit. It's not cheap. These are quality ingredients. The biscuits are made from whole grain flour. Don't be put off by that. I will say the biscuit was delicious. Really. At first glance, it looked over-cooked. Not so, just a bit of crisp crust, which give just the slightest crunch, but no burned flavor at all. I mean, really a good biscuit, if not the traditional southern biscuit. Tender ham with a melted cheese. Not huge, but just right for me. It cost $7. Coffee was $2.50, I believe. I tipped the woman at the counter. So, you know, $12+ for breakfast. It won't be for everybody because of the cost and I hope it can sustain itself. It's classy, distinctive, and...
Read moreFood was good but the owner seems to be lost when it comes to running a business and trying to be mindful of the pandemic. One thing that doesnt make sense is that they now let you eat inside but no one serves you. You also cannot order inside but have to place your order online. We tried but the website did not work. Emma was nice enough to GO OUTSIDE where the only register was and place our order. Unfortunately, she missed 2 of our drinks and one of our plates, they were nice enough to comp it, but thats 20 dollars they missed on because they cannot make their minds up on if, they should be open or not because of covid19. Either open all the way or dont. Either serve people inside, fully or dont. It just seemed like the owner was making more work for everybody for no reason, and it just felt very unorganized. Granted, it was mothers day, but the owner lacks common sense and until the owner gains that, I dont see...
