We called and placed a carryout order of 2 orders of potato skins, a Vicksburger with a side of Mac & cheese, and a black and Bleu steak salad. She said it would be 20 minutes and this was accurate. When went in to get the order, I also added 2 teas and last minute impulse Little Debbie cupcakes. I was told that they don't have Mac & cheese at dinner.... only lunch so those were replaced with French fries. After getting home I found that my steak was not just ribboned with fat but contained several ounces. One side was charred, one side browned and the inside middle was medium as ordered. And it was cold. Cold fat....mmm yeah. I realize I ordered a steak salad to go but I didn't think I needed to ask for them to be separated for carryout. Anyway, my wife found the burger and potatoes to be good. I left my order of potato skins after a bite. They just weren't appealing. And the icing on the cupcakes, (humor!)... the cupcakes have passed their expiration date. I know, I know.....shelf life blah, blah, blah.....I just really can't recommend this place.

This is my fourth time visiting since I arrived in Vicksburg last month. I’ve had the steak special, the hamburger, the rib-eye sandwich and the barbecue chicken sandwich. Every meal has been delicious! The only thing that I don’t care for are the french-fries (my personal opinion). They are fresh and hand-cut, but are oily and soggy. The nice thing is that they have a fantastic alternative...their onion rings are the best I’ve had...crispy coating and real onions! So far my favorite entree is the chicken sandwich. I anticipated a boring piece of chicken on a boring bun, but, there was nothing boring or normal about this sandwich!!! The chicken appears to be fried and then glazed with BBQ sauce (the meat was tender, juicy, and tasty). There were strips of crispy bacon on top of that, and to bring the sandwich to gold-medal status, the “bun” was made of two grilled-cheese sandwiches (using thinly sliced bread). “Wow” is the best way to describe this creation. The food is plentiful, the service is friendly and fun, and the prices are good.

Built up an appetite after touring the National Park, the Old Depot Museum, Coke Museum and Lower Mississippi River Museum. Just up the street this unassuming establishment sits just on the edge of downtown Vicksburg. Had good reviews so decided to stop in. Glad we did. Our service was outstanding. Very nice people in there. Ordered the Vicksburger and catfish basket. To my surprise, it was 1lb of beef sandwiched between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Burger was topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, mustard and ketchup. It was perfect! Nothing needed adding nor subtracting. Hit so good! The catfish was light and crispy and was delicious. The fries appeared to be hand cut and was fried to a perfect golden crisp! I slightly salted and would say these were some of my favorite fries in a long time. If you’re looking for a low key spot to eat a great meal, look no further. Looks like they have a nicely stocked bar with a stage for live music. I highly recommend the place. Come out and support your local restaurants and avid chains!

I don't give a 5 star rating easily, but the fried green tomatoes were the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. It's a funky sort of place, with old time farming equipment on the walls and to tell the truth the exterior looks a bit of a dump. Don't make the mistake I almost made and pass it up. The interior will never be featured in Southern Living, but if there was a jukebox no one played it, which i appreciated. The customers were few--it was Saturday at noon--but they represented a cross section of types, a family with children, a married couple, some laborers, a police officer, a guy who ate at the bar who looked like he could be on championship wrestling . I liked the mixture of people. I got the idea some of the diners were regulars. The Klondyke gets 5 stars for the food!!! The service was reasonably prompt and efficient and courteous without being overly chatty. I can't vouch for the rest of the food, because all I had were the fried green tomatoes, but I plan to go back to try the $10 ribeye steaks! I found the serving of tomatoes all I could eat. I'm usually pretty good about pushing away from the table and I'll admit at the halfway point I could have asked for a doggie bag, but I couldn't make myself stop. They were that good--well battered and topped with the most delicious crawfish sauce and a tad of comeback sauce, an invention of our friends down the highway in Jackson. It's like a spiced thousand island, not peppery, just delicious. Huge iced tea that I sipped on all afternoon. I've lived in Vicksburg 5. years and had visited almost weekly for years before that . I had never heard of the Klondyke, It is Vicksburg's best kept secret. I overheard another customer tell her family the Klondyke really swings on Saturday night. I do plan...

The food and service was fantastic, but this place had some pretty major issues. The first issue I had is that smoking is allowed inside. This may be legal in that area of MS, but I would have probably avoided this place had I known before we arrived. I haven't been in any establishment in a very long time that allowed indoor smoking, and it was not a pleasant experience, so be aware if you are traveling and have sensitivity to cigarette smoke. The second issue is that they were out of about half of the food on the menu. I wanted need to go because their fried green tomatoes looked amazing on the photo we found online. They were out of them, all salad stuff, and the poboy bread. They have a beer case in the back, which is nice, but beware, as it smells strongly of fish when you open it. Also, their only toilet broke and would not flush. If we ever find ourselves in Vicksburg again, I might consider getting takeout if it is available, but I'll pass on dining in. The owner needs to invest some money into fixing up this place, deep cleaning the fridge, and put in better ventilation if they are going to continue to allow smoking indoors. It is a shame cause their Vickburger is fantastic. Their fried cauliflower was...

Do not recommend. Went out our way from I20 to have a nostalgic atmospheric good meal, because of the google ratings. WRONG.

First, the masks were mandatory, bu the cleanliness was COVID19 trap! it is so dark, and bar atmosphere, I thought we were in wrong place. Ceiling Lights needed to be replaced. Just burned out (maybe owner likes dim lighting so the condition of the kitchen can’t be seen)

Second, we placed hamburger order, happened to glance towards kitchen, and noticed wile our burgers are on the grill the two kitchen hands have their money out and cell phone out (both of which are super unsanitary) maybe Mississippi health department allows that kind of thing g, but I got sick at my stomach, thinking about them handling my food.

Third, our burgers were not complete. We’re out it mustard. Did not get jalapeño peppers as requested. The buns were cold and not toasted. I am spoiled to Outstanding burgers and by far this was a huge diet disappointment.

The hand cut (hope the hands were clean) French fries were great!( Hope the grease killed the...
