California Classic Cafe — Restaurant in Victorville

We had to leave! First and foremost, before entering the establishment we were greeted by a rude SERVER who was on her smoke break and thought it was a good idea to smoke at the front door while speaking to a patron who was standing in the parking space. Upon lightly honking the horn, we were greeted with her rudeness to hold up a one moment finger with one of the most unfortunate facial expressions as if our presence and desire to park was an inconvenience for the establishment. The energy was already set by that experience. We enter the establishment, despite the initial experience, and were told to sit where we please. We do so. We're immediately greeted for drink orders and a placard was placed on the table. No mention of what to do with the placard, just placed on the table. We sit, wait for our orders to be taken, then notice others, with no placard, are being serviced. By this time, we're pretty much done with the cafe. We ask about the service and are then alerted to how the placard works. (once again, seated but never told about the placard) so we're ready to place our order. The server, who we later learned was training, went and got the rude SERVER we were met with upon parking. At this point, we're no longer giving the establishment our interest or hard earned money. We ask for the check for the coffee we ordered and left the establishment. Not all patrons are treated the same here at this establishment but I feel compelled to share our experience and offer the only star value I can...

We were kindly referred to the California Classic Cafe today buy Eric over at Ferguson's HVAC supply. My first trip here, and I have to say it was absolutely awesome! The service from beginning to end was Incredible by everyone. The most hard-working conscientious employees I have seen in a long time. Our main server Stephanie was amazing. So friendly and accommodating in every single way possible. The food was absolutely five-star. I like to spruce up my hash browns by having them cooked a bit crunchy and adding cheese and grilled onions on top. These were the best hash browns and omelette I think I have ever had. They also offer mild, medium, and hot salsa. I tried the mild and the medium and they were both great. I totally loved the Cozy 50s style Diner Decor and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The restaurant and restrooms are very clean and the prices are very fair. Even though this is a bit out of the way from where I live, I will be back very soon. I have been back here 6 or 7 times since my first visit. Robin, along with everyone has been just awesome in every way. My new favorite Hangout - California Classic Cafe. We have now been coming here for the past 3 or 4 years, and never had anything less than a awesome visit. Always incredible hospitality by Robin and the whole gang. And the food only gets better with time. It's definitely worth the 25-minute drive it takes us to get over to the California Classic...

Homely Charm, Average Bites California Classic Cafe offers a truly welcoming experience, largely thanks to its exceptionally friendly staff and a wonderfully homely atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable and at ease, making it a pleasant spot to unwind. However, while the service and ambiance shine, the food unfortunately falls short of the mark. On my visit, I opted for the Reuben sandwich, which arrived notably without the customary pickle or dressing – a surprising omission that left the sandwich feeling rather dry and incomplete. My friend's steak and eggs, while a classic, also lacked significant flavor, leading to a somewhat bland experience. Overall, California Classic Cafe has its strengths in its warm and inviting environment and the excellent service provided by its staff. If you're looking for a comfortable place with friendly faces, it certainly delivers. However, if your primary focus is on a memorable culinary experience, the food may leave you wanting...
