I always get excited for new restaurants and this was no exception and I really wanted to be able to leave a good review however I am just not able to. I've eaten Vietnamese food my whole life so I definitely know what it is and isn't supposed to be like and this is as close as non-authentic Vietnamese food as you can get. The meat was extremely fatty and had a very sweet almost Korean barbecue flavor profile which is not at all the flavor profile of Vietnamese pork. Also, it was missing the jicama carrots and most definitely the peanuts, they didn't even have peanuts in the peanut sauce for the spring rolls. The serving size was about 1/3 of a normal serving size for the dish that I ordered I am posting two photos side by side one is the order that I got from this restaurant versus the same dish that I ordered from a different Vietnamese restaurant and you will clearly be able to see the quality difference and the portion difference. This order that you see in the photo was $14 I'd also like to mention that the spring rolls had no vermicelli noodles in them it was 95% lettuce and bean sprouts. This would be the second to last Vietnamese restaurant that I would recommend in the high desert sadly this just is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNormally I would recommend this place but one thing thing that will do it for me is being rushed or having a lower quality experience because you can tell the employee(s) are trying to close and leave right when it hits closing time. Showed up maybe like at 7:35, the location closes at 8. The girl at the register was already turning the TV menus off, which wouldnāt be a problem if I knew exactly what I wanted on the menu, but I didnāt. Another thing that made this experience extremely annoying was that the boba balls are definitely not what I was expecting. Not sure if they have mini boba balls on the menu but thatās what I got. Wouldnāt have said anything about the service if the drink was good and made me happy, but definitely not happy with either the service or the product.
Editing my review because I saw in the previous reviews that someone else had seen they close early if they can so I definitely do not recommend showing up unless itās maybe an hour...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis placeās foods are as authentic as are in Saigon. Pho rare steak 4/5 Vietnamese grilled pork sandwich 4.5-5/5 Pork egg rolls 4/5 (personal preference) Vermicelli grilled pork and egg rolls 4.5-5/5 Pho chicken 4-5/5 (from 2 coworkers)
Now, my personal preferences for spring rolls is no vermicelli and no peanuts at all. If you want them, just let the chef or the employee know; Iām sure they donāt mind at all. The grilled porkās sweet and fatty flavors are Vietnamese authentic. Saigoneses are notorious for the sweetness compared to the North or Central. Also, grilled pork meat needs to be fatty for juicy character retention. They ran out of avocado once among my tens of visits thus I donāt mind. I have been trying all Vietnamese restaurants in the areas; so far this place is in my top 3. The one 2 red lights down the street is not one of the three. I am going to try more dishes to...
