I went into the store which is packed full of merchandise, friendly store staff that greeted me when I walked in the door, I am familiar with the store so I went directly to the shoe department. I was in need of a new pair of running shoes. I found a pair of Asics gel that were really form fitting to my foot. They are black and grey with a set of light red stripes down the sides. However the shoelaces were a type of lavender color that did not match the stripe at all. I asked the young salesman if there were any like this that had a more color matching shoelace? He informed me that that was the only color style they had. I must tell you I was disappointed, especially since I knew he could see that I was not happy with this combination. So then I asked if he had any shoe laces that were other colors. He said yes and showed me a rack full of different color shoelaces for $2.99. So I picked out a color that matched the shoes which I don't figure I should of had to do that, but I guess that's they way business is today. I used to buy the no show PowerSox, Gold Toe, for my husband for many years because they have enough cushion and were at a reasonable price. They haven't been carrying those socks for a while now. I've asked their employees why the company is not carrying those socks anymore but unfortunately they can't give me an answer because they don't know either. I've been told that they sell whatever corporate sends them. This is a perfect example of "fixing what's not broken". The employees tell me that the socks were selling well and I believe them because I used to buy them a lot, but corporate decided not to carry them anymore. They do have other socks that are comparable to the PowerSox but the price is outrageous. Big 5 needs to focus on customer satisfaction. Rude staff! Came in to return an item after I was given the okay to return it without a receipt. The so called “managers”by the name of TRAVIS and JACOB which according to the corporate office are not even managers, refused to work with me as they did not have the item I needed in stock and refused to give me my money back! A simple search with our number in their NEW system would have shown the transaction but were too lazy to even bother looking!! They thought it be better to talk and gossip amongst themselves than help customers.
