Shoney's — Restaurant in Vidalia

The worst service ever! We waited for over 50 minutes for our orders and it was never served. It wasn't like they were busy in the kitchen since mostly all the customers were at the buffet. We went to the hostess who was also the cashier and explained what was going on. We told her that we were going to pay for what we had and leaving since we were waiting so long for our food. She said that she was calling the manager, but he never showed up. She checked with the cooks in the back and they had the audacity to say that they still had 25 more minutes to cook the meat. It wasn't like they had to kill the cow to have to take so long to cook it. There was only 1 person out of all 5 of us who ordered meat and 3 of us ordered food from the menu. One person ordered the buffet, (YUCK.) There were flies all around the food at the buffet but he was starving. To top it all off we paid $30.00 for the 3 sodas, 1 slushee and 1 person at the buffet. (We also shared 1 of the slushee since one of the employees broke the blender.) It was totally ridiculous. I would suggest for you to go elsewhere, or perhaps another Shoney's that isn't in Vidalia. They are truly the worst restaurant we have...

Service was horrible. 1st time there and last. Walked in and was told to sit where we wanted. We sat away from buffet area. We were not impressed with food selection. Then looked over menu and that did not strike us either. The buffet was all breakfast food items at 6 ish pm. The prices were not at all reasonable for the type of food offered. We had to get up and find a server then ask for menus also no silverware and we had to chase her down for coffee that we ordered and never received. We also were ready to check out totally disgusted and no server needed check waited and it was raining we wanted to get back on road to head home 45 mon drive and it was 15 more min and still no server. Walked up to register said we want to pay for our meal never saw server and it had been 10 to 15 minutes of waiting and we let the cashier track her down. Go anywhere else but there. I had a pecan waffle and a sausage link you know like you buy at grocery store and coffee and sweet tea, paid 8 dollars for mine alone. So not worth the wait and self serving I had to do for my...

To sum it up...it was terrible. We got there at 8pm on Thursday for the breakfast bar and was seated pretty quick but that was unfortunately the best part of the night. We waited forever for our waitress to get our drink order and bring silverware but it never happened. The hostess finally checked on us and brought our drinks. Now we finally make it to the bar and it looked like they were getting ready to close because there was barely any food up there....no eggs, toast, biscuits, dry pancakes and many other things missing plus no one would make a waffle. We heard one customer complaining that they put an order in for a waffle and had been waiting for 30 minutes. What makes worse is they only had maybe 7 tables being used so they weren't busy. Needless to say I won't be going back. Shoney's once was the place to go for a buffet here in Vidalia but it's a joke now. our waitress NEVER came to our table and when we left we had 7 plates stacked up on the table and it was just me, my wife and 4 year old.
