Last time I visited this spot, it was a bubble tea cafe. Now it’s a new spot that offers some bubble tea options and dumplings (amongst other food choices). I came specifically for their soup dumplings. There’s one place in the DMV that I still think has the best soup dumplings. Let’s see how this compares. Soup dumplings - overall ok. Not as “soupy” as I would have hoped and not as big. But it’s still good for the price I paid. I also ordered the steamed dumplings which were ok. The skin was too thick for my liking and the meat was dense. Also ordered a bubble tea that paired good with the dumplings. Staff was friendly. When I ordered my dumplings, I was warned it would take at least 15mins for them to prepare it. I knew that ahead of time so I went to Whole Foods to drop off an Amazon return and when I got back, it only took a few minutes before my food came! Perfect use of my time! There is limited parking in front. I had no issues since I came during their off peak time. But be aware of the small parking lot. Good offering of a variety of dumplings. I might give them another try...
Read moreI gave a kind review initially, despite the slow service and lack of awareness in general - they will give your food to someone else and then play dumb when you bring up you’ve been waiting for forty minutes but noticed they gave food away to the wrong person.
This place needs to go, it’s unsanitary and people are getting sick. I live in Vienna and this spot has a horrible reputation at this point. Don’t go unless you want to wait forty plus minutes for food that will give you food poisoning. It’s been confirmed in my circle of Vienna moms that this place does not follow protocols that ensure food is cooked safely and hygienically. It’s one guy cooking everything with NO gloves and a lack of communication skills to even ensure the food is being given to the person that ordered it. You’re in for a tummy problem and a forty minute to hour wait if you trust this God awful place. I called the health department earlier today because it’s such...
Read moreWe got an order of fried pork/chive dumplings, one order of fried buns, one order of soup dumplings (i.e., xiaolongbao), a bowl of chopped cucumbers, a side of takoyaki, and a side of fries. Some are in the photos (I ate one of the soup dumplings before the pic :)). We also got two drinks - a red dragon fruit yogurt smoothie (very delicious, not too sweet) and a mango tea (somewhat sweeter but the tea came through).
The food was great overall and was not overly greasy even though we got many fried items. The dumplings and buns were juicy and flavorful, and my kids gobbled them up. They also liked the panda-themed decorations and saucers.
Our order was a good portion for 2 adults and 2 elementary school-aged kids.
We visited in early January, and they had just opened. We're looking forward to returning and trying other items...
