1/5, do not recommend. The employee made me cry. For reference, I’m a 14-year old girl. I came to this store with my mom today. Another woman and her kid were in line behind us, and they saw all of what happened next. When the cashier (an Indian woman) came out to the counter, I asked for an M&M blizzard. I didn’t ask for any chocolate sauce or fudge. I’ve ordered the same thing at other Dairy Queens before, and it hasn’t come with any chocolate sauce in it. When the woman was making the ice cream, I saw her put chocolate sauce into the cup. I said, “did you put chocolate sauce in it? I didn’t want any.” She then started yelling at me about how it comes with chocolate sauce, and that she had only put a little bit of it in the ice cream. She then told me to try it and see if it tasted like chocolate, so I tried a little bit of it and said that it tasted like chocolate. I put the spoon back into the cup (it’s not as though she could have re-used the ice cream or sold it to somebody else anyways). She started screaming at me, saying, “why did you put the spoon back after? You’re not supposed to put the spoon back after you try it!” I started crying, and she kept screaming at me about the chocolate sauce. My mom, who had come into the store with me, then asked the woman to remake the ice cream with no chocolate sauce in it and offered to pay for both of the blizzards. The woman started yelling that she hadn’t put any chocolate sauce into the ice cream, and that it tasted the same with or without it. She remade it, still yelling at me about how it didn’t matter to her and that it tasted the same anyways. Once she remade it, she kept yelling at me to try it and see if it tastes any different. She said “here, do you want this one? Take this one and see if it tastes different!” She then scoffed at me when I took it from her. The woman kept her voice raised the whole time, and started to ring us up. She charged us for both of the blizzards. She never stopped yelling at us, even as we were walking out the door. Not only did she yell at me for her own mistake, she lied about putting chocolate sauce after my mom asked her to remake it. We will not be coming back here. Read moreI used to love this Dairy Queen, but unfortunately, in my most recent visits, I've gotten sick from this Dairy Queen with gastrointestinal symptoms, while I have not gotten poisoning from the other Dairy Queens. I worry about if the machines are cleaned regularly. This never used to happen to me until as of recently, and after three times of being sick, I decided to not come back.
I've known Sita (the owner) since I was a young girl as I am a Vienna local, but I did notice that the business has gone downhill since the pandemic. There has never been enough staffing at this Dairy Queen, which is disappointing, considering the demand from the town's residents. A couple of times, my boyfriend and I were waiting in a long line on a weekday night, and almost any time it was my turn to order or my boyfriend's turn to order, Sita would go to the back of the Dairy Queen and stay there for about 10-15 minutes. This made it basically half an hour to get ice cream. I felt upset by this behavior on top of the food poisoning and have opted to drive a few more miles to the Dairy Queen in Fairfax, or to Ben and Jerry's where I felt like the employees were more professional. I don't think I'll be coming back to this Dairy Queen, and I hope that the owners receive more training on professionalism, and highly consider hiring more help. Read moreIt’s really sad such a good place gets service like this, had a sign up going to get bananas, back in 30 minutes while literally we waited outside and AT LEAST 15 cars (35-45 people) full of families came by and tried to get in, you lost so much business because you went to go get bananas….bad business decision, worst part is, someone came out from the back as if they were there the whole time I waited outside with my family thinking it could be any minute and saw the whole thing…sad to have such a gold mine if a business with such bad service…let me know if you ever want to sell the place
Whoever the owner is needs to wake up, there’s one girl working here and and non stop customers, hire someone else to help with the shift poor girl is running around Abd the store has not stopped and still manages to smile in the customers faces, she deserves a raise and a helper to be here with her…that’s why she needed a break in the first place, the customers you lost being closed would have made up for the 2nd persons daily wage and you would improve your customer service
