I really was excited to try this new place out but I quickly realized the marketing team did their job well and convinced people to waste their money here.
Came here from seeing marketing, in specific ExploreChicagoās video on tiktok. As always, whenever I have listened to that pages suggestion I have always been highly disappointed. If you follow that page as well, I would recommend you donāt listen to their recommendations and unfollow ASAP as the page is clearly in it for the money the restaurants give them to make one āaestheticā video. Instead of providing quality reviews, they try to glorify every single item shown whether or not if itās good. Trust me, I have been fooled multiple times.
Other than their cunning marketing schemes.
I liked the idea of combining two cuisines; Indo/Pak and Middle eastern , but it really isnāt working out well for them. They need some serious work.
Problem #1: The menu I am a firm believer and supporter of having a diverse menu, but this menu and all the options on the menu are way too overwhelming. There is a Middle Eastern food page as well as a Indo/Pak one, and itās way too overwhelming to look at both. By looking at both, you are destined to over order, and not actually pay attention to what you are getting. We were split between what to get, instead of a fusion cuisine, this place serves two different cuisines instead of trying to combine them. I get that itās possible, however, they need a better way to get around it.
Problem #2: The food itself I ordered a pretty diverse range of options from their menu and I was extremely disappointed. Coming into the restaurant, I had extremely high hopes and standards that were unfortunately not met. I drove over 90 minutes to get to this place, just to be served cold food. First of all, the food was extremely bland. They do not know the meaning of desi food at all. And even the middle eastern food was BLAND. How do you possibly mess up two cuisines at once?? Like please at least make an effort to season, properly cook, and serve your food. I can go on and on about the list of other places near by where it wonāt be as disappointing.
Problem #3: Portion sizes Extremely small. Barely any meat in the dishes. Please read the individual food review below:
Reviewing dishes: (please look at pictures attached to get a better idea!) Complimentary appetizer: Pita bread and Hummus. Extremely disappointed in this. How do you mess up Pita bread and hummus?! No further comment on this. Butter chicken w/ rice: I counted 6 pieces of boneless chicken in this. Cut into very small pieces as well. Bland. Karahi gosht ā¼ļø: for the love of god, DO NOT order this dish, you will be disappointed. $30 just to be served a small portion of beef bones? Yeah no thanks. Again, came w/ rice. Al Badia mixed platter: COLD. Extremely cold. Bland food. Not a single thing on this plate tasted appetizing. Beef chapli kabobs: Honestly didnāt even taste like chapli kabobs. Felt like I was eating the kabob on the mixed platter just in a different shape. Donāt get this Chicken LoMein: I would say this dish was the worst of all. Since when was noodles a part of desi cuisine?? Iām confused. The cherry on top of this was that it didnāt taste good at all. Had a burnt taste, stale veggies (tasted frozen), and HINTS of chicken.
Overall: 2/10
Their food is simply not good. They are trying way too hard and itās not working out. Donāt waste your time here and go to Al-Bawadi instead please. Important note: they have amazing service. The staff was amazing and very helpful. I do not blame my bad experience on the staff as they made sure to make us feel...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Al Badia Tandoori Dallah, a restaurant known for its authentic Pakistani and Arab cuisine. From start to finish, my experience at this establishment was delightful, with exceptional service and delectable dishes that left me satisfied.
First and foremost, the service at Al Badia Tandoori Dallah was truly top-notch. The waiter attending to our table was incredibly helpful and displayed a high level of professionalism. He promptly answered our questions, provided excellent recommendations, and ensured that our dining experience was enjoyable. The staff's attentiveness and friendly demeanor added a personal touch that made us feel welcome and valued as guests.
Moving on to the food, Al Badia Tandoori Dallah did not disappoint. We started with the Nahari, which has earned a well-deserved reputation as the best in Chicago and the surrounding area. Its rich flavors and tender meat left us wanting more, and it was certainly a highlight of the meal. The Chicken Lo Mein also hit all the right notes, with a perfect balance of flavors and a satisfying texture.
One standout dish that I absolutely loved was the Filet Mignon Kabab. The meat was incredibly tender and juicy, and I found myself craving more with every bite. It was a true delight and certainly a dish I would highly recommend.
The garlic sauce served at Al Badia Tandoori Dallah was simply amazing. Its creamy texture and robust garlic flavor complemented the dishes beautifully, adding an extra layer of deliciousness. The Hummus was also on point, with a smooth and creamy consistency that paired perfectly with warm bread.
However, I must admit that the Chicken Pakora fell short of expectations. While I had high hopes for this dish, it did not deliver the same level of satisfaction as the other items on the menu. I would suggest skipping the Chicken Pakora and focusing on the other delectable options available.
Lastly, I must mention Cheema-Saab, who made our dining experience truly memorable. His delightful personality, exceptional customer service, and attentiveness to our needs were commendable. His dedication to ensuring guest satisfaction was evident throughout the evening, and he truly added an extra touch of excellence to our visit.
Al Badia Tandoori Dallah offers both Pakistani and Middle Eastern cuisines under one roof. It's wonderful to have the opportunity to indulge in the flavors and culinary traditions of these two diverse and rich food cultures in a single restaurant. The combination of Pakistani and Middle Eastern dishes provides a wide range of options for diners, allowing them to explore and savor the unique flavors, spices, and techniques from both regions.
In conclusion, Al Badia Tandoori Dallah is a restaurant that excels in providing a fantastic dining experience. With its authentic Pakistani and Arab cuisine, exceptional service, and standout dishes such as the Nahari and Filet Mignon Kabab, it is definitely worth a visit. Just remember to skip the Chicken Pakora and enjoy the other...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a business owner in Oakbrook and multiple clients of mine had recommended the food here since its close by. I decided to order to go after finishing work on my way home to the city . I couldn't decide what to get so ordered almost 100 $ worth of food for my husband and I and was really looking forward to trying it. When I picked up my food they decided to stack my large order of butter chicken on top of other food and didn't put the lid on securely so it fell off as I set it down in my car . I'm shocked they would have stacked it like that without making sure it was on and tying the bag so it was secure. To make matters worse the bag had a hole in it so it leaked all over me and my backseat as I tried to clean it up leaking even into the crevices in areas I still can't clean out . It was extremely hot and a mess. I had to grab the only bag in my car that had a new white blanket in it to put the chicken in so I could bring it back in and find some way to clean up myself and my car. The guy at the front desk was nice and gave me paper towels, spray and another bag which I filled with all the mess. It was such a nightmare cleaning up but thank God they made up for it by giving me extra free rice and some chocolate. LOL I got home and I was so overwhelmed with the mess all over my car and asked my husband to call and ask for the manager to just cover the cost to clean the back seat . I didn't want free food or money just to pay the bill to the car wash . The "OWNER" Alex and someone named Musa constantly avoided my husband and the host kept telling him he just stepped out or were in a meeting. It took a week to get him on the phone and Alex admitted he remembered me and would take care of it but then hung up and when my husband called right back the host again said he just stepped out again and wasn't there. When he said he was just on the phone with him and to put him on suddenly Alex was available. Musa and Alex were so rude about handling it . They said they would call back and never did. Their customer service skills are unprofessional and terrible. I worked in restaurants for years and managed as well and I can understand if I dropped it being my fault but if I packaged a to go order incorrectly where the lid wasnt on all the way , i didnt tie the bag to secure it and the bag had a hole in it that led to it leaking all over my new customer and their vehicle the last thing I would do is lie about being there, and avoid their calls . Mistakes happen but own them. Now I have to pay to get my car detailed. Most of my clients that recommended this restaurant were middle eastern as this seems to be a middle eastern owned restaurant. I can't help but wonder if i would have been treated better if I wasn't an American and a woman. It's very upsetting and I'll make sure to tell everyone that recommend this place how bad my experience was and how Alex handled it. We still never heard back from him after he said he'd call back and don't...
