I came to the location in villa park two days before thanksgiving as I have been for over 20 years to pick out a ham. I'm very particular about the ham I choose for my family, so after being viewing 3 hams none of which I liked the sales person became irritated and called the supervisor over by the name of Danya, she showed me an additional 4 hams and I didn't like those either. Since I'm paying for this product I should be able to be treated with respect, kindness and patience, Danya then told me that she couldn't show me anymore hams because "she didn't have the time to keep running in back bringing me out hams". I was shocked! I then asked for the manager and she said "he's too busy to come out", I then insisted on seeing the manager. While I was waited a very nice cashier, Keeana whom I've seen in years past started talking to me and mentioned that she remembered me from previous years, because I like a particular type of ham, she offered her assistance. By then the manager Bryant came out and he wasn't any better with his bad attitude than Danya! I told him what type of ham I was looking for, not too dark, with a little rim of fat on it. Every year when I call I mention to them the type of ham I want and they reassure me that they will continue to bring out hams until I find the perfect ham. Remember these hams aren't cheep at all.I mentioned to Bryant that I would be contacting corporate and his response was "don't brother telling them, I know what they're going to say". The entire experience was horrible. Bryant even mentioned that he could have one of the hams re-glazed, but that I would gave to buy it. What type of strong arm approach is that. Finally Keeana stepped in a showed me 2 hams, they were both perfect!! I understand that there's usually a crowd, but this particular day it wasn't, and even if it was I was a paying customer!! There seems to be a different management crew from previous years. I finally bought my ham and thanked Keeana for her wonderful help, she should be the manager!! I want to get another ham for xmas....but I will not be going back to the Villa Park location after over 20 years of going there. I would really like a response to my complaint, I hope that you take it...
Read moreOrdered a ham a week ago for daughter’s Baptism. Went today to pick it up and called ahead to see if we could pick up earlier than the original time and they seemed very confused on the phone. On arrival, infant fell asleep in the car and I called while flashing outside the front doors to see if someone could bring it out to me as it had already been paid for online. Was yelled at on the phone for ordering a size of ham that they didn’t have in stock and needed to give me 2 halves. The employee rudely said there was no one to bring it out to me but she would check and would put me in hold, which ended with her hanging up the call instead of leaving me on hold. I waited a few minutes and when the food was brought out to the car, was yelled at by the employee as I opened my door that I am not allowed to ask to have the order brought out because they get in trouble for safety reasons. I stated that if they had told me that on the phone, I would have gone inside; I don’t know their store policies. Young lady was rude, confrontational and blamed me for her getting in trouble with her manager. I just spent $140 on ham, I don’t know your policies about car door delivery but know you offer it during the holidays like Easter and Christmas, but I don’t expect to be verbally assaulted by a worker after I pay for an item in your store. Store was also empty, no customers....
Read moreWhen I first walked in, I was greeted by an overwhelmingly positive atmosphere, and an almost overwhelming number of people (the number of people, I’m sure, is because it’s the beginning of thanksgiving week and they’re going to be super busy!). My first thought was “oh wow, everyone being so overtly nice must be some kind of marketing gimmick. Clever!”
And then I realized it was just that I had walked into a collection of incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely fun people. I’m not sure how all of these people ended up in the same place, or if it is some kind of get it, but the entire time I was there, I felt genuinely welcomed and had several fun conversations with the people there, all while being served incredibly efficiently and correctly within seconds.
