This review is difficult because food was good but the environment and customer service was subpar. As a family, we got two chicken clay pots and two noodle soups. All dishes were delicious!
But here's the bad.... the restaurant itself needs to be cleaned up. The dining area seemed clean, at least on the surface but my husband was disgusted with the men's room. Filthy and in disrepair. Toilet handle broken off and laying on the water tank so it could not be flushed without lifting tank lid off. Not happening! Toilet paper dispenser ripped out and hanging from the wall. Splatter of unknown material on walls. He said he felt like he need to shower to decontaminate after using the facility. It just makes you wonder if the staff is using the same restroom and just how clean everything else is, mainly the kitchen. We did witness the server use a glass to scoop ice with his bare hands and . Gross! But hey, no one is sick today!
Our other complaint is that two tables that ordered after we did, received their food before us even though they were ordering the same noodle soups. They finally brought out our two noodle soups but we had to wait another 10 minutes for the chicken clay pot dishes to come out. The server, on his own accord and to his credit, acknowledged this and apologized for this.
Again, the food was really good but the staff needs to clean the place up and follow improved and consistent food service sanitation practices. In the end it is very unlikely that...
Read moreThey food is incredible. Really the best Vietnamese weâve ever had. However, ordering from them is like pulling teeth! Your best bet is to go in, in person and watch them input your order on their screen. This most recent time was the main reason for leaving this review. We placed our order on their app as for a while their phone message wouldnât even let you talk to a person it just directed you to the app to order. However, the last time we ordered on the app, I showed up the appropriate 25 min after ordering and they hadnât even started it yet because they âhadnât gotten itâ. Yet I didnât have to replace the order so obviously they did get it. This time, we were picking it up on the way somewhere with our baby in the car so after my husband placed the order, I had him call to make sure they got it and ask how long it would take. The girl that answered said they received it and that itâd be ready in 10-15 min. Well we get there and I guess the girl that had answered had just left and no one there had any idea of our order. Needless to say I was PISSED because my husband and baby (who hates the car btw) were waiting and now we had to wait another 20 minutes! And what did they offer me for this huge mistake? NOTHING! They are lucky the food is so good because normally I would never ever tolerate service like this and Iâm getting pretty close to not ever...
Read moreWe were seated right away, but service quickly became an issue. At every other pho restaurant Iâve been to, pho is usually served very quickly, but here it was the opposite. It took quite a while before our server even brought waterâsomething we eventually had to remind her about. The food itself then took 20â30 minutes to arrive, which felt slow given the restaurant was not especially busy.
When the dishes did arrive, the quality was inconsistent. The BBQ meat was unfortunately overcooked, leaving it tough and dry. The pho broth lacked the depth and richness Iâve come to expect from more authentic Vietnamese spotsâit tasted somewhat flat by comparison.
Portions also felt on the smaller side, especially given the price point. A single bowl of pho here costs more than what I usually pay in the central Jersey area, and is closer to what youâd expect in major cities like New York or Bostonâyet without delivering the same level of quality.
Perhaps Iâm spoiled by excellent Vietnamese restaurants elsewhere, but overall, the food, service, and value here didnât quite meet...
