My to day stay started when I attempted to check in. I arrived at the hotel a little early around 2:40pm where I was told that there were no clean rooms available. I asked if I could wait in the lobby area and I was told that I'm going to have to come back. I asked when I could expect to have a room and was told "after three".
I return shortly after three, and there is still no room available. The front desk person was rude. I told her that I did not appreciate her rudeness, she said that she was sorry then laughed at me. She did not even bother to look at me when she spoke to me.
After the check in I thought, well that is over things must get better, I was wrong. The room was gross. It had the smell of cheap sun tan lotion. Every surface in the room was greasy and had finger prints. The bathroom floor had a slippery greasy film. I informed the front desk (this time there was a new lady at the front desk who was very nice), who informs me that she will have housekeeping look into the room's smell and the bathroom's floor. I decide to leave the hotel for a while.
When I return the front desk personal, who was very nice, informed me that they have cleaned the bathroom floor but the the smell is their normal "deodorizer." I have stayed in a few holiday inns and I have never been in one that intended for their rooms to smell this bad. They offer me another room and I accept.
After changing rooms I notice the same slick floor as the other bathroom, and the same smell, although it is weaker in this room, I decide to stay for my two days. I pull out the iron and ironing board and it is broken, it will not stand on its own. I feel bad that I have
complained so much about the hotel I did not tell the staff about the ironing board and just make due. I turn on the iron and it leeks a lot of water when it is in use, it is old and should be replaced.
There was crusty sticky stuff that was on the deck when I entered into my new room. I decided to use my own cleaning supplies to clean it before use.
There was a tissue box that had no tissues, this was never fixed. The shower was beat up with chips, and what looked like discoloration caused by cigarette burns. The towels were stained, they looked and smelled dirty.
I must comment that while both front desk individuals had the same name, one was horrible (day time) the other was amazing and very sweet (evening). I think you should have one train the other in good customer...
Read moreWe just left a few days ago. Let me preface and say, we've stayed here off and on for over 15 years. There was never a problem. On the surface, the hotel is clean, modern, and updated. What lies beneath is an ant infestation. They were EVERYWHERE! All over our room. I called the first morning, they said all they could do was spray or move us. I said if you know an ants work ethic and if they are on the third floor, they are already everywhere. Moving won't help. On the second night, I went to get help downstairs. I stood at the front calling for help for several minutes to get bug spray. No one came. After knocking on the wall, a guy in a blue shirt came out with stains all over his shirt. He looked liked he was back there sleep. Another guest on the 1st floor was waiting with me. He stated he had ants, too, and they gave him bug spray. I asked for it, the attendant said he couldn't do it and I'd have to wait until morning. I said, we keep having to move things around, they were under our food, and if you know an ant, they work hard at night. I also took pictures of old food and candy that were under the couch. I said this has been a problem. Ants don't stay where they can't eat and drink. I said I've stayed in much less nice hotels and have never seen ants on this level. He eventually gave me the spray with an attitude. I sprayed all over. Housekeeping came to clean heavy the next day but they still were everywhere. A staff told us they have the problem every summer. In addition, we received little information about the room cleaning. They also were still working on rooms after 3p.m. on the day we checked in. Also, I can tell the girl with the blue hair us a hatdwroker but sorta rigid and inflexible to our needs. That guy at night needs to go. I had to bang on the wall hard to get him to wake up. He tried to give us a discount but we can barely understand the receipt. No one from IHG or management checked on us. Anyway, I just think they know about the ants and aren't telling anyone. I respect an ant just never seen this many from any hotel, EVER! They need to close down and...
Read moreOur visit to the holiday inn was scheduled for four days and three nights. Upon arriving at the hotel, we encountered numerous issues:
1 - upon entering the room, my wife and I checked the room and bathroom for cleanliness. As we always do, we checked the bathroom sink, toilet, and bath tub for any issues. The bathtub was not draining properly, causing water to pool up rather quickly. I went to the receptionist and she promptly had maintenance in the room to fix the issue.
2 - atfter the first nights rest we were preparing for the day when we noticed my toddler trying to pull on something from underneath the couch. upon further inspection it was identified to be a strip to the couch with nails protruding out of it dangling on the ground (something we didn't first see when we entered the room the night before but will check for in the future). We went to the front desk on our way out and told them of the issue to which they, again, sent maintenance up to fix
3 - the third and final issue we had was once we returned later on in the evening. upon entering the room i headed to the bed area to get clothes ready for my child to go to sleep. My wife, still holding our kid, was closing the hotel room door when inside of the bathroom (roughly 3 feet from her) the bathroom light fixture fell from the ceiling onto the toilet seat and shattered in a pool of standing water on the bathroom floor. Water was also observed leaking from the bathroom ceiling. I immediately went down to the front desk and told the receptionist who apologized and offered another room for us to occupy. at this time there had been three incidents in less than 24 hours so we chose to checkout that night and find another hotel to stay in (unfortunately not an IHG hotel). To date, the hotel room at this holiday in has been the worst we've have ever stayed in during our numerous travels and I would not recommend this hotel to future people visiting...
