Okay so let me say this, i just started going here a few months ago. My 1st 3 times was great, but my last two times Um blah đđ©.
1st bad experience they tried sitting us at a table that we couldânt fit at, when asked if we could move the manager gave us an attitude an told us we would have too wait. Okay no problem, we had already waited 1hr anyways. So about 15mins later she sat us, with the same attitude. Food was great chef was great, but my mom has a mushroom allergy, we stated that soon as we sat down. So the tell us all her food would be cooked in the back. 5 mins later here comes the server with mushroom soup. We sent it back no problem, after we get our food here comes hers everything piled on top, even egg yolk sauce. ( itâs really good but greases, if u eat it then u understand y she was upset) her Food was also cold. They were busy so we just packed up an left.
I return today we waited over an hour for a chef to come cook our food after we ordered. The chef wasnât good at all, no entertainment ( maybe bc we had waited so long) the food was salty he kept seasoning every, an pour soy sauce all over the meat an veggies. 4 of us requested our steaks med, he made them well done. The food was sooo salty i couldânt eat but a few bites. I got up a found the manager, an told her what was going on . She said that chef was the best An never uses a lot of salt bc he doesnât eat a lot of salt. But said sheâll give us a discount ( honestly i wasnât looking for that, really wanted everything takin off my bill bc i didnât eat but 5bites. ) everyone complained at our table. They gave us all 15% off, a guy An his daughter didnât even eat their steak bc it was so bad. Oh An our server đ€·đœââïž Was missing in action. We didnât see him after the chef came out the manager was taking care of us, whenever she walked by. Iâm upset i took my sister there this time bc she had never been An her 1st experience wasnât good at all. After today idk if i wanna go back, Iâm also sick Really bad stomach ache , An vomiting. Iâm a server who hates to complain but i had to leave some feedback. Like i said i had a great experience before , but today was the worse. Itâs 130am an Iâm up vomiting with a sore stomach. Now i have too miss a day of work tomorrow...

At 6:30 I tell the hostess our entire party arrived and we are ready to be seated to be told now there is a wait 20 minutes for us to be seated, so essentially they gave our table to the customers that complained that didnât even have a reservation. We got seated a little after 7 the restaurant was busy our server Jackson was really good to be working so many tables. The chef was also good and very pleasant. We had two orders that required regular white rice we are told that they are out of rice so they would give noodles instead free of charge the amount of noodles given isnât nearly enough for the hibachi portion of meat and vegetables so we asked for another noodle and was charged 3.95 đĄ However I notice a table that was seated after us that was still working on soup and salad had rice on the cart to be cooked for their table when the chef came out to get the food started for them. so if we are being served first and our food is almost done cooking shouldnât they have given us the white rice and told the other party they are short on rice? Restaurant also out of mushrooms. Overall the taste of the food was really good. The restaurant is kinda of dingy and could use a deep cleaning and some updates one of the ladies in our party mentioned that the restroom had no TP. When the bill came the waiter never asked how to split it gave us two bills for a total of 11 people and let it for us to sort out. I will go back for carry out but wonât...
Read morePotential worthy successor to the now-closed Japanese Steak House. For those locally in Columbus who are familiar, the old Japanese Steak House (JSH) closed a couple of years ago. My family made the trip downtown to dine there for special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries, and it was always a positive experience. The portions were HUGE and the food was always amazing, particularly the scallops with egg yolk sauce.
Since the closing, we were devastated and have been trying various hibachi restaurants in and around town trying to find a worthy successor, to no avail. While other options have been generally fine, none measured up to the taste and value of the Japanese Steak House.
I think we may have finally found a viable replacement. The portions are a bit smaller, particularly the beef/filet which was tasty, but about half the amount that the JSH would provide. The shrimp and scallops however were spectacular, and taste just like the old place we're used to. Veggies were tasty, though the fried rice was not as flavorful as we're accustomed to. Salad with ginger dressing was very good, but the soup was a beef broth rather than chicken, and not as good as JSH. Unlike the JSH, no ice cream dessert was included, but was available for an additional fee.
Overall I can't say this was as good a value as the old JCH (smaller portions and no dessert for the exact same prices), but finding shrimp and scallops prepared in the same fashion as the JCH was a HUGE find for us, so we will be going back. We'll just avoid the filet option, which really isn't worth the cost premium. We left with enough take-home for one meal, whereas the JCH would typically leave us with two meals...if that gives a sense for portion size. In summary, it's close to the best, and we...
