My wife and I went into the store a little over a month ago to get new phones and migrate to a joint plan. I was moving from AT&T and she was moving from her parents plan (already a Verizon customer). This process was difficult and confusing from the start. We just wanted a joint plan.
First we selected phones, which wasn't bad. The manager seemed knowledgeable on the products and was helpful in that regard. My wife isn't picky, and didn't plan on getting the new iPhone. He told her it would be free, whereas the the less brand new phone would cost some money. No brainer, she went with free (important tidbit for later). This is where things stopped going smoothly.
I got my pin from AT&T to port my number easily enough, and he started working on the account. We were waiting on her pin, and it took a while (not the stores fault) but for some reason, she was getting a different phone number. I was confused at why we were doing this, but he said it wasn't a problem and when we got the new phones in a few days she could just move the number to my account. Well we pick up the phones and she has a different number and it can't be changed for 30 days. Annoying, but whatever.
I leave for training, and a week later she gets a bill in the mail for nearly $200. Confused, we inquire about the bill and turns out he created two completely separate accounts for us. At this point we decided to start dealing with the corporate store in reynoldsburg, but the fun doesn't stop there. I got to trade in my old phone, I get the full credit, no problem. However, I'm told account doesn't show a promo for my wife's new iPhone. I said that it was weird, because it was the release promotion for the new iPhone. They said yes, but it doesn't qualify because she was an existing Verizon customer. They elevated it, and said hopefully we would get a credit for the full amount. My wife goes in the next day to drop off her old phone.
A few days later, we find out we are only getting $115 credit for the old iPhone. Tired of the back and forth, she wants to return the iPhone. They say no problem, do you have your old phone? No of course not we gave it to them. Can't return the iPhone. Then we get the bill, and on top of everything else, I get charged a line deactivation fee for a line we never wanted in the first place.
Tl;Dr: got tricked into buying the new iPhone because it would be free but it wasn't, got tricked into opening two accounts and three lines because we told it would be easier for us and it wasn't. The tricks cost is a bunch of money because Verizon doesn't seem to care what their affiliate stores do and wasted a bunch of our time. Don't shop here, just go to the corporate store up the street. They are way better...
Read moreDid not have the best experience here unfortunately. Was sold some products that supposedly were free with my upgrade. Upon reviewing my receipt at home, I was actually charged for the accessories. Went into the store and was able to return the charger but not the screen protector because apparently there is a no return policy. I did not even realize that I was purchasing the screen protector or else I would have never chosen to buy it. When asking the clerk in store who I could call to get this resolved, he directed me to reach out to the Verizon customer service line. Verizon could not do anything. I then called the GoWireless customer service line. The rep there wrote an email to this store’s manager about a week and a half ago and I have not heard anything back. According to the rep, the store manager can override the no refund policy. Would definitely recommend meticulously going over your receipt before giving your money over. I hope this store makes it right, because lying to customers is not...
