Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Violet Township

I’d like to start off by saying I’m not one to complain about restaurants or even leave bad reviews, I’m currently a manager in retail & have worked as a manager in food service for some years now so I completely get it. However, this had have been among one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Honestly if I could put a 0 of 5 stars I would. I went to this Coldstone creamery yesterday with my younger sister, all we had ordered was a salted caramel apple & then their surrender to strawberry sundae creation. The surrender to strawberry sundae is supposed to be their strawberry ice cream with chunks of strawberry, bits of cake and whipped cream. Firstly, I had paid with a gift card & was given no receipt to keep track of the balance on the card… no big deal considering I can use the website. After being rung out I noticed that they literally just took plain strawberry ice cream & put it in a cup…. NOT what I had ordered. Right after they rung us out they immediately ran to the back to chat & hide. I know this because I went back up for them to remake it waiting there patiently not saying anything & they peeked around the corner & then ran further in the back to hide upon seeing me waiting… luckily there was another lady that actually was out there rather than hiding in the back. I walked up to her & politely asked her if she can remake my order because maybe there was a miscommunication. This was then met with a snooty attitude & her “remaking” what was supposed to be my sundae was her taking my ice cream out of the same cup, mixing a few strawberries into it & then putting it back in the cup. Complete & utter disappointment, drove 20+ minutes for this behavior & plain strawberry ice cream I could’ve easily gotten at my local Kroger for much less. I really like the ice cream here, by far better than Dairy Queen. I’m dinging stars for customer service. Every time I go, I get the exact same thing. I have Asperger’s so I really like consistency and often order the same things at restaurants. But every time I go, the price is different, I order the same thing, same size. You have to actually watch them as they make your order bc they won’t put all the ingredients that you asked for but still charge you for them. You can tell they hate cutting up the cookie dough pieces bc you will get half the amount you’re supposed to get (putting the amount of a like it in the gotta have it size) I understand the employees are kids, but they’re so rude. Every time I go, they Have to finish their conversations before greeting you, hide in the back and talk. Love love love their ice cream!! I always get the same thing.. peanut butter cup perfection, but I substitute the chocolate ice cream for sweet cream! Yummmm! I typically get the "gotta have it" size cup. And the only reason I gave four stars instead of five, is because sometimes they don't fill the cup as much as they have advertised. ColdStone has amazing tasting ice cream and I'm a happy, frequent customer!! If you've never been here, you MUST try it! Prices are slightly high but once you taste the ice cream, it will justify the price. Oh, and if you tip the employees, they all sing a song! Cute! You can also sample the ice cream flavors if you can't choose which one you want. This location is always clean and is well stocked with not only ice cream, but other treats such as: caramel apples, ice cream, frosted dog treats, buckeyes, and the list goes on!
