Ordered at 6:51 pm on 12/3, not a single employee was wearing their mask. All of them had it down around their chin. When I placed my order I asked the cashier for a special request, my family has 2 members that are immune-compromised, and could they please wear their masks correctly for 5 minutes to prepare our food? Not a single mask was fixed. The one I spoke to put it up long enough to give me my drink cup and then walked back to drive through and pulled it back down. When I asked who the manager was as we left, a woman pointed me to a man, also not wearing his mask, in the middle of the kitchen. I called back right after we left, we had thrown away our food and went somewhere else, and on the phone I asked the manager why he would allow food workers to not wear masks during a global health crisis? He lied saying that he had just walked into the room and didn't realize and that he would tell people to put them back on. No refund offered, not even an apology, just a "well how about that, I guess the masks are down" Steer clear of this place. I'd like to die doing something like saving a child from a burning building, not by going to a kfc.
...oh, and no sauces, one wrong order, and even though we tossed everything we kept the drinks and the plastic sealed cookies, which were very dry and crumbly. Not sure if they had anything to do with that, like if they were too old, I've just had better cookies here and don't know why this one was so bad.
UPDATE: I went back the next day with my receipt and asked for a refund. Now, I've worked in food, and yes we weren't particularly fond of giving out refunds, but if a customer had a problem with the meal, you either fix it or give the money back. I come in with my receipt and they walk off to get advice, and they try to tell me that because they don't have the food and I didn't call the day before, there was nothing they could do. I get that they would want proof that $30 worth of fast food wasn't eaten, and I know it's not going to be sold again and just tossed, again, I've worked this business, I usually had no trouble with this when it came up for me. The difference is that the food COULD HAVE KILLED US. Bringing that into my home could have caused us harm, and I don't just mean cause it's KFC. Luckily I did call the night before so I was able to give my name, and they quietly and begrudgingly gave me my money back. I've driven back several times since and the night crew still doesn't wear their masks. Just...

Whoever the franchise owner is or wether it was corporate, thank you for listening! Granted I’ve never had a response, but I do see the changes! Polite and courteous, prompt, food orders come out hot, no more locked doors hours prior to closing!
Updating my review to 4 stars, from 1. Only thing that could be improved is a regularly scheduled lobby wipe down, floor sweep and spot mop. I sat and ate my meal inside today, and it certainly was slow enough to have someone do it. But overall I’m very happy to see the instituted changes!
—Original Review— Worst location in Hampton Roads! Never has wings available, always 20min wait. Drive through usually takes a long time and don’t even think about going Inside! Was just told they’re going to wait 5mins before taking anymore inside orders until the drive through is clear!
They also have a habit of locking the doors and keeping folks to drive thru only!

Waited in the drive thru at the Independence location for over 35 minutes (most of which was just waiting at the speaker to order while they spent an exorbitant amount of time with the customer in front of me). I actually put my car in park and took a nap it was so long! When I asked why we all had to wait for 1 person, the young girl cashiering shrugged her shoulders with an attitude as if to say “not my problem” She then went and said something to another coworker about me and her manager came over to help her but said nothing to me whatsoever! When I expressed my frustration to the manager about no one even apologizing for the wait he just said “we are short staffed”. Then the young girl lied and said she didn’t hear me say anything to her. The manager apologized for the girl but not the wait! Wow! No one needs fried chicken THAT bad....
