The other night I went into Papa Johns on South Independence - at the corner of S. Independence & Princess Anne. I had been going here for more than a decade. When I walked in, a Store Manager, Lei Lani, dropped an empty pizza box on the floor (the very floor that delivery drivers walk on after they have walked through mud and grass to get to your door and who knows what else) - She then picked it up and set it back on the shelf with all the other clean boxes (so she intended to put someone's freshly made pizza) in this box that touched the dirty floor. For a Manager, she lacked all common sense and had no respect for the Health Code Rules. (Of course, I reported this to the Health Department). When I said to her "Ma'am, you can't do that" - "You can't drop a box and put it back on the shelf with the other clean boxes. You have to throw it away", she then took it off the shelf and places it on the clean counter where your pizza goes for pickups. Then she and her 2 staff members were extremely rude to me after that - and very passive aggressive as when I asked for paper plates Lei Lani put this huge stack of paper plates before me and said "Take as many as you want" then gave her fake "Have a nice night" in snotty disrespectful, high pitched and phony manner. I had been giving this store business for 10+ years and the GM refused to speak with me. The Area Manager called and he was so fake, so patronizing and there were long periods of silence that made me very uncomfortable. He offered my money back which I accepted and I will never go to this Papa Johns or any of the 27 locations that they own in Hampton Roads. They could have simply called me the next day and said - "Hey there, we are very sorry about last night and it will not happen again. We re-trained that individual on health codes and what can we do to make this right?" - But they did the opposite. They blew me off for 2 days, then the GM refused to speak with me, the Area Manager was so fake and insincere, with long periods of silence. It was as though he just wanted to get the conversation over with. Papa Johns has no clue about how to treat their customers. And I will never get a pizza from them again. Read moreI am extremely disappointed with my experience at Papa John's. My family and I were treated disgustingly by the staff and the delivery driver. The driver lied about being talked to a certain way and drove off with my children’s food , leaving us without our food…. He never even made it to my home , he was at a duplicate address which is in the back of the neighborhood . Which I stated to him on the phone when he called and said no one was answering the door! Meaning he was never at my home to begin with !
When I called to speak to someone about this issue, I was hung up on multiple times. The staff was incredibly rude and not receptive to hearing my complaint. I even recorded the conversation to provide evidence of their unacceptable behavior.
I am so angered by this experience that I will be contacting my brother who is a lawyer first thing in the morning to seek legal action. It's unacceptable that Papa John's and their employees can treat customers this way and refuse to make amends for their mistakes.
If you're considering ordering from Papa John's, I suggest finding another pizza place that values their customers and treats them with dignity...
Read moreOrdered chicken poppers with Honey Chipotle sauce and 2 pizzas. They got the pizzas right but not the chicken. Was told basically, "oh well" upon talking to the second person that supposedly was a "manager". I was told they can't do anything for side items, even if they're wrong. They gave me the option to rebate the two pizzas back on store credit or refund the pizza. I explained that there's nothing wrong with the pizzas! The chicken order was clearly wrong! They refused to make it right which we paid for. Not to mention dealing with these employees is like dealing with children that shouldn't be employed and are undeniably too stupid to have a job. Out of principal, I'm going to contact the owner of this franchise and tell him how I feel about their employees they've hired and the trifling service they provide.
