One of my families favorite places to go to when at Lynnhaven Mall. It is located night next to Chickfila. I’m so glad they didn’t get rid of it when they did the food court transformation. Always a long line but it goes fast. They have many choices but everyone knows that the chicken teriyaki special is the best. We always get that with a choice of white or fried rice. Then we ask for extra steam veggies. If we are feeling “greedy” we ask for double meat. Not going to lie. I remember when double meat was 99 cents. Now they raised the prices over the years and I feel like the “double” meat also got smaller. BUT WE STILL ARE GOING TO GET IT THOUGH. At the end, we also ask the cook if we can get some extra sauce on top to top it off. Always a great stop for food. I saw that they have a bento box. I am going to try that one day.

I ordered a chicken teriyaki meal with a sprite. It came up $14. I questioned it, she ignored me. I paid and looked at the receipt. Asked why it was more, again ignored. Got my tray, asked where the spring rolls were, they said I didn't get them and again ignored me further. I paid MORE than advertised and didn't even get what I ordered. And asked multiple times still to just not be helped. Left without the the rolls, whatever, but definitely will stick with other locations. And I asked for the meal with a sprite. Never ever said I wanted to upgrade size or even mentioned a size at all. I even asked if I could do the smaller cup. So no, that wasn't it

Cashier was frustrated with my mom who speaks broken English, it wasn’t even busy we were the only people in line. We found a throwaway cabbage chunk and my 7 dollar chicken teriyaki roll was a waste of money. I might as well just ordered half a box of chicken teriyaki with white rice for 7 dollars and have more portions since they didn’t even bother putting avocado in the roll. Compared to my past experiences in this place I didn’t have that much of a problem until now, and the taste of the food is what made me write this review. Not worth 20-30 dollars

I came and ate and the guy was going so fast he was hardly listening. I always order the same thing. Every time. Since I was a child. I waited in a long, long line for the food because others enjoy Sarku just as much as I did, just to discover the gentleman rang my order wrong. I’m never someone who gripes about that, mistakes happen, just fix it quickly and we can move on. The cook immediately dismissed me and argued with me that it was correct what the guy put in and said he refused to correct it until I paid more. Completely dismissed me. The two ladies next to me didn’t receive something in their order either and the same cook didn’t even question it like he JUST did me, and fixed it for them, all while I was right there made to rummage to fix the cashiers mistake as he was going so fast he wasn’t listening to my food requests. If your cashier messes up that’s not my fault and the fact that he messed up a second time and it wasn’t even questioned….what? They argued with me and then continued to argue until someone grabbed my receipt, nobody even stopped to check with the cashier. Nobody even apologized just said “that’s what he rang you up for so that’s what you get unless you pay me a dollar”. The cook tried to make it as if I’d have to wait all over again for my food. Any time I have ever gone to the mall Sarku always had my heart every time since I was a young child. I was so embarrassed at how the cook treated me that I just cannot go back again. He was so rude and dismissive telling me I didn’t order the same thing I’ve ALWAYS ordered and then to not question or make the person next to me and rectify their mistake with THAT person directly next to me who ALSO agreed it was totally messed up the way the cook was being toward me... I’m so upset, thanks for ruining an already rough day where the highlight of it was supposed to be coming and enjoying nostalgic food as I don’t go to the mall often but when I do, I make sure to go to Sarku. Don’t worry, I paid your dollar, thankfully having exactly 4 quarters and two nickels in my wallet because I wasn’t going to mess everyone up to pay a dollar on a card…but that’s my last dollar to ever go to...

Hello All!

I have been enjoying Sarku Japan at Lynnhaven mall for over HALF MY LIFE! From their days of being on the 2nd floor, next to the Chik-Fil-A when it was new, to now when they are now in the lower level food court. This place holds a dear place in my heart for my father and I use to eat here on the weekends when he would have me. My order hasn't changed at all: chicken teriyaki, fried rice, with double meat and extra vegetables. If I could offer some constructive criticism; I would suggest working on getting more consistent with serving portions.

Example, I'll order the same meal (x2) for myself and my mother for lunch and when I return with the meals I always end up weighing them and giving her the one that has less ounces of chicken. She's more petite than I am. Therefore, if portion sizes were more consistent you would have: happier customers who aren't feeling ripped off pending on who is serving them, more accurate ways of notating projected monthly inventory orders, and it could possibly equate for a better experience for the workers too.

Thank you for taking the time for read my review. It's much...

Never again!! Red flag #1: There’s a reason their lines are really short compared to the other restaurants in the food court. Red flag #2 Upon ordering another customer walked up complaining about how they messed up her daughters order. They were insisting that they did not mess up and if she wanted something else she needed to pay them more money. Red flag #3: The employees don’t communicate with the customers very well. They don’t point your food out to you just leaving you assume which is what. They got my order wrong and before they could argue back my husband intervened and told them what I was supposed to have and the guy obliged. Last Red Flag: they advertise teriyaki this teriyaki that but when we got our food and sat down it all was flavorless. I’ve never had teriyaki chicken that hardly had any flavor. All the sides were just horrible tasting and over cold. The whole setup was chaotic. Next time I’ll just wait in the long lines at the other...
