I would like to start by saying that I can not remember ever having a bad experience at this McDonald's restaurant. I have worked at the car dealership across the street from this location for the last two and a half years and indulge usually around once a month (if my will is strong). When I first walk in, every time without fail, some body says hello and or acknowledges my presence. From the time I enter the front door and make my way to the counter I know I can count on more than a few smiling faces. I admit, I have almost come to expect it if it were not for the fact I do not experience the same thing at other local fast food chains. Usually my order consists of the same thing every time. One double cheese burger and a McChicken sandwich with a side of BBQ sauce, nothing out of the ordinary. Except for the fact that it is. My order is always prompt regardless of the time off day or how busy it is in the store. It doesn't matter if it is a new guy on the register or one of the shift managers that seem to have been there since I have started coming in. There used to be a bell on the front counter that solicited the customer to ring it if they felt they were having a good experience. I miss that bell. I enjoyed ringing it, maniacally mimicking the NYSE closing bell. I'm sure that's one of the reasons it's no longer there. It was a simple way for me to show the folks behind the counter that I appreciated them. I knew they knew I did because of the raucous return of “thank yous” and “Have a great days” after I had put the bell to good use. Now I know this may seem a little over the top for a review of a McDonald's, and to some it may be. I have to argue otherwise. My experience today wasn't the first time I have left and thought to myself “I should really say or write something to somebody” but it is the the first time I've gone and actually done it. It is long over due. Before my life as a car salesman I spent many years in the food service industry, my first being at the Mcdonald's on Kempsville Rd. and Centerville Tpke. I didn't last very long there. I still remember though the thankless nature of what some disparagingly considered a McJob and how it sometimes left me feeling unappreciated. I guess what I'm trying to say is Thank You. My order may only “usually” (I use that word loosely) ring up to be a couple dollars and it may only be fast food but it is worth something to me. I want all of the kind, hardworking and up beat people of the Mcdonald's at 3736 Virginia Beach Blvd Virginia Beach, VA to know that I recognize and appreciate what it is they do day in and day out and I hope others do so as well. Truthfully I have to say it's because of them that “I'm...
Read moreI'm not gonna bother rating anything in particular cause I haven't had the full experience. However, I do reviews and I read reviews before going anywhere. Most of the time, it's between 3.5-5 stars, I'm not extremely picky. I know we all carry our own opinions. But when the reviews are THIS bad, I don't bother to even go. My overall 1 star rating is for everyone here who's had such an awful experience. "But how can you rate or judge something you've not experienced yourself? That's unfair". It's not. These reviews are here for any place as a form of prevention, if you think about it. We read reviews to see what others think and either the rating testers back and forth or the rating is phenomenal and you go find out for yourself, or the ratings are just so low with descriptions that you just don't bother. I'm very picky about my good and I've also worked in the world of retail management and I know me lol. I know I'd nit picking and be a Karen. But I'm working hard on self control and prevention. So if you're here reading like I do to see if the trip is worth it, obviously I can't tell you what to do. But what I can say, in the words of Jeff Probst (Survivor) is the tribe (the people) have spoken. Take that for what it's worth. To the store, if you want change, seek change. If you want success then seek those who want success as well. Young minds need their jobs to show them about life. Your buisness doesn't even bother to teach anyone. Everything in life is a learning opportunity. The skills they pick up NOW will be life long lessons to help them get further in their lives SUCCESSFULLY. If YOU don't believe in them, they won't believe in themselves. Once you realize THAT and dedicate yourself to a different mindset and routine, the atmosphere, vibe and drive in your staff will improve your product and their attitudes. As a manager myself, I enjoy getting to know my staff so I know where their strengths and weaknesses are and we set goals. Goals give hope. With goals, your crew will have something to look forward to besides a paycheck. Think about it. I...
Read moreThe absolute worst McDonald's ever I will never go there again my mother also boycotted this McDonalds now I know why. First off EVERY time I go there I wait forever for crappy food. It would be one thing if the food was good after all that waiting but it sucks. This is what happened to me this morning and I've put a call in to corporate for someone to call me back. It's that serious and that bad. So I go in there at 10:54 am which I understand breakfast is ending soon but not yet I ordered a steak egg and cheese bagel NO breakfast sauce. I spent 20$ waited 20 miniutes for nastiest food ever. First after ten minutes I saw the lazyily throw a round mcmuffin egg on my bagel instead of folded egg because they didn't feel like making more folded eggs. The folded egg makes the sandwich.. the steak was cold and looked like it had been stepped on plus no grilled onions. So they tried to tell me they didn't have folded egg then the magager told them to make some so I wait five more miniutes they hand me a bagel covered in breakfast sauce. I said I wanted my money back and the magager just quickly handed me another bagel without breakfast sauce and said oops I gave you the wrong one. And ignored my request for a refund. The bagel had the right ingredients this time but they had that same piece of cold stepped on steak with no onions .. even after I asked for the onions too I guess it was too much for them to remember. The cheese was cold and the egg they just made supposedly was cold somehow. It was the worst thing I've ever eaten. And it's consistently like this at this particular location. Somthing really needs to be done about this...
