I have had many dinners here but not anymore. I never said anything about the poorly prepared food, I would pick something else from the menu next occasion. It is a close local business and I was trying to find something to settle on if it was going to be a regular spot to me. Over 3 visits and over 500 dollars. Just to clarify that, I definitely order shots of liquor and the pricing is better for doubles. Unfortunately the doubles are the same as regular shots anywhere else. But I was willing to accept that if the food was good enough. In every case, the food was just above inedible and sometimes inedible. I was given French fries with an entree that were literally recooked old stale fries, most were hard as a rock. The softer ones had no flavor at all. This time a steak ( the most expensive cut on the menu) was as tough as shoe leather and the temp was supposed to be medium but it was well done. Beyond all of that and the dealbreaker for me was that after ordering a piddly dessert called a Brownie bite ( literally a bite of brownie with a spoonful of vanilla ice cream for 3.50) I asked for another double shot and the " bartender" who was engrossed in a conversation with her friend who came in and couldn't be bothered to do her job seriously said that I didn't have any manners. Now, I have been there 4 times and tipped the same "bartender" all trips included over 100 dollars and I never said anything about her poor service and this time was the absolute worst experience. I arrived at 6:30 and sat down to see that she gave me my standard drink order but didn't ask me what appetizer I wanted for almost 20 minutes. Everyone else who came in behind me had their orders taken and I was a total afterthought. Keep in mind that I have always tipped at least 30% up to this point. It's disappointing to be disrespected by an employee at a place where I was hoping to be a regular customer. I have been to many, many places like this and after a certain point they stop charging you for every single shot. I went to a TGIFridays once and got 3 free shots in one night. Not here. I'm pretty sure that I was overcharged for the double shots on 2 occasions but I'm not trying to create problems with people who handle my food. So...now I will Because I will absolutely never go back to this shitty restaurant and the rude condescending " bartender" who literally ignored me as much as she could get away with because she said that I had no " manners" In the business that I work in for 40 years, customers don't have to have manners, they just have to pay the bill. Trust me, the customers I deal with don't have manners or politeness, just to get...
Read more.i usually don’t bother leaving reviews because I’m entirely too lazy but this one really took the cake…. I asked for a glass of milk (I had heartburn) she brings me a child’s sized cup of milk for one…. Yes I understand it’s a strange request for a grown woman to ask for but that’s just it. I’m grown. I wouldn’t have cared if she charged me double for it but why couldn’t I have a full sized glass of milk? Strike two was the bug clearly sitting on top of the milk ….. last straw for me was when I stopped her and said excuse me ma’am. And went to hand it back to her. Instead of apologizing or even showing any form of sympathy she simply says “oh that’s lovely, I’ll get you another one.” Seriously? Do you really just not care that much? On top of it there were two of us and they only bothered to give us one set of silverware and when I asked her for another set she says “oh they only gave you one set?” Obviously or I wouldn’t be asking for another one. I didn’t say that of course but it was definitely in my head at this point. She brings it over and we both say thank you…. She doesn’t even respond just sets it down and walks away…. At this point I don’t even want to be here anymore but we had just gotten off of a 12 hour shift and we didn’t have the energy to cook….. thought it would be nice to go out and have some lunch before we ultimately crashed out and had to be back tonight…. But the multiple flies buzzing around us didn’t help at all… I get it’s summer time but there’s not one but two sets of doors separating us from the outside… in less than 30 seconds from sitting down i had counted three flies buzzing around our table alone… I don’t even want to think about what’s going on back in the kitchen . I don’t think we’ll make the mistake of ever coming back here again…. Not that it matters I know they make so much money they won’t notice but still…. Can’t even eat peacefully because we have to keep stopping to shoo flies away… I asked for a chicken sandwich with pickles on it and they brought it out without it… ok no big deal… I asked for pickles and said they didn’t put any on there and once again she echoes me and says “oh they didn’t put pickles on there?” I just said that why do you keep repeating what I’m saying are you seriously in utter disbelief or what’s the deal…. Didn’t even give us napkins aside from what the silverware was wrapped in like come on man…. It’s not busy what’s going on here…. I can’t imagine how bad it is if this place ever...
Read moreWhile the food was consistently good and delicious, and the service was usually satisfactory, there were some recurring issues that detracted from the overall dining experience.
Let's start with the positives. The food at Applebee's is reliably tasty, and I found myself enjoying my meals during each visit. The menu offers a variety of options, catering to different tastes and preferences. Whether you're in the mood for a burger, pasta, or a salad, Applebee's has something to satisfy your cravings. The flavors were consistently on point, and the portion sizes are generous.
In terms of service, the staff at Applebee's were generally friendly and accommodating. Most of the time, they were attentive and responsive to customer needs. I appreciated their efforts to make dining a pleasant experience, and their willingness to provide recommendations or address any concerns.
However, despite the positive aspects, I couldn't help but notice a few recurring problems during my visits. One issue was the frequent shortage of silverware and napkins. It was frustrating to have to repeatedly ask for these basic necessities, and it took away from the overall dining experience. Another issue was when the kitchen forgot to prepare and serve a meal, leading to delays and inconvenience. These lapses in attention to detail were disappointing and left a negative impression.
As a parent, I understand the importance of timely service when it comes to children's meals. Unfortunately, on more than one occasion, I experienced the disappointment of my toddler's food being brought out last. This may seem like a small inconvenience to some, but any parent knows that hungry, impatient children can quickly escalate a situation. This aspect of the service needs improvement, as it can significantly impact the overall dining experience for families.
In conclusion, Applebee's is not my favorite restaurant, but it is a reasonable choice for a casual dining experience. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is generally friendly. However, the recurring issues such as silverware shortages, lapses in attention to detail, and delayed children's meals prevent it from being a top-tier dining option. With some improvements in these areas, Applebee's has the potential to enhance the overall dining experience and earn a higher rating.
