If I could give it zero stars, I would. First and last time eating there. Called about 4pm on a Sat. and asked if they did call ahead seating. BJs said yes and asked for how many. I said just two at 6pm. She said call ahead wasn't necessary for two, but she arranged it anyway. Got there at 6pm and proceeded to watch them seat parties of two, four and five, as well as parties that arrived after us. Noticing that their were approx. two thirds of the booths for two unoccupied, I'd finally had enough. At 6:35pm, the only ones still waiting, we finally complained to the hostess, who then promptly, but rudely, seated us at a booth for four. By rudely, I mean she threw the menus down on the table and walked away. I had to prompt her for an apology, which she reluctantly gave without any meaningful tone. There essentially was no call ahead seating, although they acted as if there was. See what they were making us wait for was a table or booth that only seated two, and the reason that two thirds of the booths for two were open is because they didn't have any wait staff assigned to those booths. Probably because they aren't big money makers. Sorry folks, but not having a full wait staff on a Sat. night is pretty sad. Our waitress, at the table next to us, flew past our table, making zero eye contact and said, with her back now towards us, "be with y'all in a minute." A minute turned into five and when she finally showed up to our table, without waters, to take our drink order, we only ordered two waters. The waters took another five minutes to get to the table. Ten minutes just to get two waters on the table. I ordered the turkey club, can't recall how long we waited, but it was an inordinate amount of time. The bread was supposed to be toasted, but was so soggy, I could have ringed it out. The waitress offered to replace it, but I refused, given the amount of time it took to get the first one and because I never send food back. Too risky. Had a chat with the manager who was out on the floor and told him of our service to this point. He offered to not have me pay for the club. I refused as I was just making the point that they have a great deal of work to do to improve their service and food prep. I was only able to eat half the club. I don't complain at restaurants, I really don't, but this place was one of the worst I've been in a long time. It was our anniversary night, and as much as they tried, we refused to let BJs Brewhouse in Short Pump ruin it. Although, by midnight, I was...
Read moreThis was absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had. Some coworkers and myself went to lunch to celebrate a birthday for a peer. The young man who sat us was snippy and rude right from the start. Our waitress seemed very nice, but the service was the worst I have had. A small lunch took over 2 hours. We all ran out of drinks and sat there for 30 minutes waiting for water and even after asking, it still took awhile. The food was not great and I would never eat there again. Then we reminded the waitress that we wanted a dessert for our friend’s birthday and also asked for the checks. It took nearly 30 minutes and us asking for the manager for us to get our checks. Then the checks were wrong. There were 5 of us. We each got a meal, 4 got water and we got 2 appetizers. This was a simple lunch, this was not a complicated set of meals. I told her from the beginning how we were paying. Then we told her again when we asked for the checks. It was such a CLUSTER and we were kept waiting a ridiculously long time. This was a terrible experience. And the manager was filling in as he was from a different area. When we told him we wanted the checks and just wanted to pay and leave, he should have took charge and got us out of there. Instead, we sat there as our waitress was at the register trying to figure this out with 3 other people. Someone should have stepped in. I would normally not leave a negative review, but this was so bad. Never go here during a work lunch unless you...
Read moreWarm beer, tasteless terrible food, and expensive! Server was good, wait was about 15 minutes on a Rainy Saturday night at 5:40. We were so disappointed by the beer temp it was served way too warm and this was not one unfortunate round. It was across two rounds of beer and we just couldn’t bring ourselves to finish either one.
Food was not good but was priced like it was. We ordered the avocado egg roll appetizer and it was flavorless mush with a soy glaze dip that was such a weird unappetizing combo. I want to note it looked nothing like previous reviews. Our order was just avocado inside the egg roll. Then we had a ahi tuna salad that was $30 and the Parmesan chicken with broccoli. Again the salad had no flavor at all. The Parmesan chicken was mediocre and the mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes and the broccoli was so overcooked we Could barely pick it up without it crumbling apart. Such a disappointing dining experience.
This should just be a big suburban pass. Go anywhere else.
Update— while I appreciate the managements response to my review. This was not one thing wrong that we could address with the manager. This was everything was wrong and that would have been a very uncomfortable position for the server and management because they couldn’t address it in that moment.
Please management look at the trend of reviews and get some help. We all want to see...
