Saigon City Restaurant — Restaurant in Springfield

Hear me out. 1 star for a reason. Too long; won't read? - They overcharge, cheat you out of your money, and service is slow, icy, and in today's colloquialism, "salty".

My coworker and I walk in, no one there. A middle aged man pops up behind the counter and points at a table in the corner, so we sit there. We were a bit confused on what to order, so we decide to go with "Seven Courses of Beef" who the server told us was supposed to serve seven people. By this time, he already had spite in his voice and begrudgingly asked us to move to a larger table (so that he could fit all the dishes on the table).

It isn't very often that a server forgets to give you one, maybe two dishes. And in our case, he "forgot" a dish, specifically, the "shaky beef". At first, my coworker and I believed that they were still making it in the kitchen, however, at the end of the meal, we still only counted the 6 dishes that we received. I walked up the counter, opened a menu, and asked my coworker, who is Vietnamese, which one of the dishes was missing, and to ask the server why we never received it. We waited for 5 minutes because there were no servers around. When we finally wave one over, my friend asks about the missing "shaky beef", to which the server replied in English "Shaky beef not included". Take a look at the menu, and look for yourself, is shaky beef not #3 under the "Seven Course of Beef"?

I've eaten here 4 times. A 25% chance of them not giving me all the food that I paid for is too much for me.

Very Yummy and Fresh. Had the duck with egg noodles. Duck leg was good and meaty, sprouts were super fresh. Also fried chicken wings great, and I'm picky with wings. And I had them do a vegetable fried rice, instead of combo meat as on the menu. Wonderful fried rice!! Not like chinese, smilar but much better. I've saved the location as I go up and down I95 frequently btween NC and NY. Found by accident from missing my fork and having to get off and turn around. Now after I read the reviews; about service, I was takeout, but the older man and younger woman were both very nice. It was 10pm right before closing and the 3 pairs of diners there were the types obviously serious about their food and happy with what was in front to them which all looked good. The last pair walked in after 10p as I was ordering and first were told takeout only, but when they said they wanted to eat in, he said ok easily. They were served quick, I saw as I came back in to pick up my order. This place used to be so much better. It’s gone waaaaay downhill. If I ever go here at this point it’s because they stay open late- not because the food is great. I don’t know why this has become the same issue I have at this place but the last 3 times I came to eat here, I would order a LARGE bowl of soup and they would come out with a small bowl of soup. The 1st time this happened I didn’t say anything and just accepted the small bowl of soup but the tried to charge me for a large bowl. That’s not cool. The other 2 times this happened, I pointed out that I ordered a LARGE soup and request they fix the order.i get the vegetable Pho and the last time I ate there it was so flavorless that it took A LOT of hoisin and sriracha sauce to make it taste decent.
