I will start by saying that when they are not busy during a day the atmosphere is a little better, the inside is clean, their robot is cool, it's peaceful. It's almost like the business of Fri & Sat nights completely changes the energy and quality.
Read the yelp reviews also. I hope the owner reads this with empathy to know that the residents used to LOVE this place for yearssss.. there are a few things that have changed over the last 2-3 years that need addressing for continued love. I used to order every Friday for years, and have deviated from that earlier this year due to the issues. I ordered for pickup tonight. At approx. 7:15 I went to pick up my pizza tonight (as many past Fridays). The app has made it challenging to order for many (albeit an older person or whatever, but stop pushing them to order through the app if someone wants to call it in). I'm a fairly young standard tech user, even I somehow ordered a pizza w/o cheese once by accident and the woman with dark hair that was there tonight is is the same woman that was very rude to me, and she always is, no matter the issue. She consistently tells customers that "many customers order pizza w/o cheese and they can't possibly know it's an error." I heard her tonight telling the same thing to another upset customer on the phone, exactky what she told to me when I did it. Maybe the app is the issue, but the people in the great falls location are rude and do not care. Hospitality and food industry is not their strong suit. The woman even rolled her eyes while she was on the phone tonight, while I was standing right in front of her. The older man near her also did not care, and tell them to look at their order, that's what they made. They simply do not care. For the owner, Maybe consider that there IS actually an issue, apologize for the rudeness and maybe consider having a real look at it. I hope to see the attitudes of the workers change to be happier, wanting to be helpful, caring about their business. Maybe teach them that accidents happen, tech isn't always the best for customers, and take an order over the phone with a smile. Rudeness doesn't leave a good taste in anyone's mouth.

Read moreJust back home in Reston after an assignment in Texas for 4 years. Nothing in the house to eat and I’m a native New Yorker. Exhausted from packing and moving I just wanted some good warm food. Fail me NOT! Ordered a large white cheese pie with extra cheese and triple sausage plus red onions. OMG! There is no place like home. Totally the bomb! Warmed my belly but most importantly warmed my heart. Admittedly, I am a total food snob: LOVE good food and love to cook and share good food with family and friends. I swear, I almost face planted into that pizza I was so happy! The only thing that prevented me from doing so was I had big eyes and also curious because I’ve only had pizza here before: also order extra crispy HOT Chicken Wings and had to try their calzone. NY calzones are the best. Once again: totally creamy and filled with lots of sausage and salami. Damn! So so friggin good. Are all the wings, small end section of the calzone…. The juice from the fresh mozarella was tripping down to my chin when I bit into it. I was in total heaven! Stuffed but I just couldn’t resist and had three bites of a slice. Moaning good deliciousness! EVERYTHING!!! My NY roots are deep ( will eventually move back ) and Deli Italiano was the best first meal I had being back home! Great Falls location has always been my go to spot and I live in Reston. The ABSOLUTE BEST PLACE FOR PIZZA AND ALL THINGS NY style Italian. If I could, I would have hugged and kissed the Chef for providing me the taste and memories of being home. Do not even look elsewhere…. No comparison to any other place of you know and love the real deal! This is it! Can’t wait to come in and enjoy a nice home cooked meal real soon. THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! And it was my birthday which made it even more special. Deli Italiano is...
Read moreIf you have any food allergies or intolerances, beware. Long story short: I ordered a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese on it and was not warned the vegan cheese contains gluten, (very weird and rare) which feels like something a place offering gluten free crusts should be aware of and tell people who try to order both.
I’m visiting the area and was excited to find a place that had both gluten free crust and vegan cheese so of course I ordered a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese. I don’t have celiac so as long as I don’t physically eat gluten I’m fine, so ordering from a place that doesn’t have a dedicated gluten free kitchen or space is not a problem. Upon receiving the pizza I realized the cheese looked and tasted different than any other vegan cheese I’d had before. I knew it was vegan because it looked different from my friends pizza that had real cheese but I decided after eating a piece and being a little suspicious of the unknown cheese’s taste and texture that I should call and check if it was also gluten free. After having two people check what brand it was and having them read the ingredients, we determined the vegan cheese has wheat in it for some reason, therefore rendering my pizza completely uneatable and my stomach very upset. I just think if you offer a gluten free crust that you should either 1) have vegan cheese that’s gluten free (which most are which is why I didn’t ask in the first place) or 2) warn people that the vegan cheese contains gluten if they are ordering the gluten free crust (because obviously they don’t want to...
