The tables and restaurant are visibly dirty with food all over several of them right after they opened despite the restaurant being empty before 11 AM. The food went way downhill since the older lady left. The oil The eggrolls were fried intasted noticeably very old and like chemicals. I always get the eggrolls fried crispy and the oil they’re fried and never tasted like that ever. It was always spot on when the other lady worked there.sometimes the broth In the wonton soup is excellent sometimes it’s just OK and that’s Totally coolbut this time it had less taste than water. The young girl at the counter is a sweetheart. I hated seeing her get scolded and corrected in front of Myself and another man picking up his order justbecause she allowed me to take a tray to the table instead of unloading the tray and bringing it back, she was told not to let me do that because i was eating out of containers that were on the tray and they would have to wash it before they use it for another customer. Then the other worker sits back down after I explained to him the tables were dirty and that’s why I chose my own table (There was not one person eating in the restaurant except myself and this was right at 11 AM ) And instead of cleaning the tables he sits down and gets back on his phone again. I’m not picky. I don’t mind wiping off tables, but you could see the food on these tables from 10 feet away. It wasn’t just a little bit and it didn’t bother me because maybe they got busy the day before and when they got there that morning they had a lot of prep, so I just picked a clean table, but the little girl was doing her job just fine and shouldn’t be scolded in front of people, He wasn’t mean to her, but he went into detail that I really wouldn’t want a customer to hear, and it must’ve been embarrassing for her nevertheless. I really miss the older lady, Everything was spot on when she was there, but the last two times it doesn’t even seem like the same restaurant, used to be my favorite place for Chinese. Kind of a bummer that the older lady has gone because she was the glue holding the place...

Got there at 8:25 and wanted to eat in but 2 things happened. The “go ahead” guy was indeed rude when speaking because I was having a hard time understanding him and had to repeat himself and each time he was harder to understand than the time before. We at first wanted to order in but place was hot. They have no public restroom so this is one of those places to pick up and go. The food was not that good but not the worst. The orange chicken was just so much orange sauce and not really good or crunchy. Happy family was more like sad family cuz no shrimp or maybe only one or two pieces. Easily some of the best carry out food in Roanoke. If you read a review on here stating that they got rude service, it is because they are there to give you food, not make idle conversation. If I have ever had an issue with the food (which is not often), they fix it immediately. They have always been really great to my family when they go in, and have had only the cleanest cooking procedures. If you would like to doubt that, refer to their health inspection. The house lo mien is worth me driving 45 minutes to get, and they always accommodate my wife who is a vegetarian. Even my daughter (4 years old) loves to come in and get just steamed rice.
