Update response to owner
My review remains the same as i stated on Facebook. Your business provided the menu to Uber eats that blatantly offered different meats for that dish. How is the customer supposed to know it’s a chicken only dish if there are no notes available? If this causes issues, why not remove the item from Uber altogether?
I’m sorry you feel that my review is “filled with hatred” but I’m only stating facts per my receipt and what was on the delivery platform. I paid 78 before my $10 tip. So technically $68 before the delivery fee as well. In all i spent $88 at a restaurant and was misinformed. Instead of taking ownership, you’d rather say my review is “filled with hatred”
We won’t be recommending or returning.
The flavor is there. The disappointment comes from ordering something with a tab of 80$ but not getting what you ordered.
We ordered lamb karahi and very obviously received chicken. My problem with this is you don't know peoples intolerance and preferences. What makes it even worse is that you make folks pay extra for a specific type of meat and then don't even provide it. It is very much possible for a restaurant to edit a received order and provide a note saying "sold out" or whatever else detail, adjust the order as needed and then issue the refund. Why provide chicken if we ordered lamb?? And then try to hide it with a different type of cut style?? C'mon. (Pictures attached)
Additionally, the portion given for the Himalayan curry, IMO, was not worth $20. 6 pieces of chicken breast chunks is sad.
The flavor is so there. Just do better as far as meeting the expectations. We paid $10 fee for delivery! Because of the rave reviews and award this restaurant recently received. I'm sure the quality and customer is much better in person but the bar needs to be raised for delivery if you're going to be charging $10...
Read moreAuthentic Nepali food is hard to come by in the U.S., and even in Nepal - you have to eat at a Nepali's home to get quality. I lived in Nepal for several years and miss traditional Nepali Momo, which is similar to Chinese dumplings or Japanese Gyoza. However, Nepali Momos are a national dish and take on a uniqueness dumplings and Gyoza lack. In short, they are amazing!
Himalayan has authentic Momo - they are absolutely tasty! One of the things I miss from Nepal.
The garlic naan also has no comparison. Buttery, garlic-y and delicious!
The curries we tried were also great and include Nepalese and Indian-style curries. My favorite was the Nepali dhaal baat with spicy goat curry. It was amazing and as authentic as you can get anywhere, Nepal or otherwise. The food is amazing and the staff are equally great! Super friendly in traditional Nepali fashion!
Be warned, however, when you befriend Nepalese, they can be very straightforward! It's charming and beautiful! The place was also super clean and the staff are COVID conscious...
If you haven't had Nepalese curry, one way to describe it is thus: Indian curry typically is full of spices and bursts of flavor. Almost too much for some. Thai curry relies heavily on natural ingredients and less spices, you can taste the ginger or bamboo as it dominates your taste buds! But Nepalese curry is Indian without an overload of spices. It focuses on less spices but as a delicious emphasis. Almost how Thai curry relies on less...but uniquely Nepalese. The spicy flavor really cements Nepali curry as one of the better curries in South and Southeast Asia.
That's why I like Nepali curry and that's one of many reasons you'll...
Read moreA friend and I went to Himalayan Heritage Restaurant for the first time on a Tuesday night. We were the first ones in the restaurant that evening. Everything was very clean and tables were beautifully set. We were welcomed right at the door with a smile and seated quickly. I had been hearing about the restaurant, and was excited to finally have a chance to go. We were not totally sure as to what to order. But we ended up with fried Momo, Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka, chicken Chow Mien, and plain naan bread baskets. Everything was absolutely delicious. We did feel like the tikka was a bit over cooked. But the flavors were still delightful. Everything came in waves. So we could enjoy a dish we shared put it aside, then enjoy the next dish. Although there were multiple choices for drinks, we just had water. The restaurant is very easy to find, right off 95 north, or route one north. The parking was extremely easy with a wide parking lot. The restrooms were accessible and the bar fully loaded. I gave an overall four star. Because I felt the attention to detail was a bit lacking. The curtains were oddly draped with their ties falling in all directions. The wires were showing under the televisions. A few light fixtures were missing bulbs, and even covers. But the decorations and pictures were very colorful and pretty. I gave service a four-star, because the waitress was unable to understand what we were saying. But did treat us very kindly and was very attentive. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening with good food, nice atmosphere, and no crowd. I will definitely return and try...
