Quick affordable sit-down meal.
My husband and I often enjoy stopping in Perkins Restaurant just off i81 exit 7. It's kind of in an easily forgot spot but easily viewed from the south bound lane on i81.
So often the restaurant is on the lightly busy side during rush meal times.
We love Perkins for the familiar fare expected of restaurant of their type and time. I hope they never become another moment in history.
The restaurant is comfortable, clean and has that familiar hard to not say dated but compared to today's newer restaurants yes dated look. To me it feels home like.
They have the soups salads and sandwiches we all expect. Hamburgers and fries. As well as fried fish, steak, pork chops. They serve breakfast all day. And the have a nice 55plus menu with meals priced around $10 bucks n under. The serving sizing are appropriate and filling. Menu items also for children.
Today I choose the eggs Benedict, fried potatoes and one of their delightfully yummy blueberry muffins. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak mashed potatoes and salad.
Our server was very friendly and brought our ticket out quickly. Everything was as expected. I did have to asked for a bag for my muffin. But that was the plan. A little snack later.
It's nice the feel like you got an enjoyable meal without feeling like you left a bag of groceries laying around somewhere.
Where can you find today that 2 for around 30 bucks can eat out. Not many places left.
Thanks Perkins we...
Read moreCame in to the store around about 9:30 PM. Only two other people other than us in the establishment. Wasn’t too bad on getting the drinks and we ordered off the menu. When mine came it wasn’t what I ordered. I ordered a lemon chicken on rice pilaf with asparagus. I got grilled chicken on White rice. It was supposed to have sautéed mushrooms on the top of it. I asked the waitress about it and she brought me a small dish of chopped up mushrooms that would go on top of the salad. As we were leaving the girl at the checkout counter asked us how was our v White rice. It was supposed to have sautéed mushrooms on the top of it. I asked the waitress about it and she brought me a small dish of chopped up mushrooms that would go on top of the salad. As we were leaving the girl at the checkout counter asked us how was our food . As my friend continue to tell her she said well what could you expect when you came in here after 9 PM. If they did not serve grilled chicken after 9 PM it should’ve not of been on the menu. Extremely rude I thought. Are used to be a nice place to come anytime of the day. The staff used to be friendly and the manager would be there to talk to you. Every time you go in there now there’s different waitresses. They’re just there to have a job. They act like they would rather be somewhere else. If they keep this up they will not be there for very long. I’m hoping they put another Perkins on...
Read moreI like dining here because the service is usually friendly. We were there during the coronavirus pandemic so social distancing was in effect. All of the employees that I have seen on both recent visits were wearing masks. I'm considered at-risk and appreciate their efforts.
My husband and I only ordered sandwiches and iced. I chose the French dip with fries. He chose a regular burger and fries. Both were served hot and were good. I had to ask for horseradish and we had to signal for iced tea refills a couple of times. Everything else was fine though.
Something they don't advertise much now is that you can order in bulk. You have to call and order ahead of time and you will need freezer space. We ordered a box of their burgers ar around $80 bucks I think. Each weighed six ounces. The price worked out to over $3.50 per pound. We broke the burgers up to use them as ground beef for chili or soup several times. It worked out well and saved us some trips...
