We love Joe's! A friend and I go to the breakfast buffet around 11:00 on Sunday mornings. It's the best of both worlds! You get their excellent sausage gravy, crispy bacon, eggs, pancakes and French toast , all kinds of fruits, that actually starts about 8:30 I think. But we go at 11:00 because at 11:30 they bring out some of their Italian Specialties on a lunch buffet. Pizza, chicken parm, meatballs, vegetables. So we eat a little bit for breakfast, and then a little bit for lunch, and it's perfect. I usually end up taking my son and his girlfriend a pizza when I leave there. Joe's cheese pan pizza is, according to my son and his girlfriend, the best pizza they have ever had from anywhere in their entire lives! And these two have had some pizza, lol. Everyone in there is extremely nice, one of the owners is always walking around to make sure everyone is being taken care of properly. It's just a great place. If you can't make the Sunday morning brunch buffet, any time is good. When we go for dinner, it's the chicken parm without fail. It's the best chicken parm I've ever had from any restaurant, anywhere. We're definitely fans, and so glad that Joe's was not one that fell during the pandemic. We're very lucky to have them in our...
Read moreService: 10/10 We were greeted and seated promptly
Cleanliness: 5/10 The bathroom door had black hand marks on it and I stuck to the bathroom floor. The dining area was mostly ok tho
Staff: 10/10 The lady who served us was awesome but way too over worked and spread too thin amongst 5 different tables, 3 of which were large parties of construction workers, 8 to 12 to a table. The owners didn't seem to care or want to help her
Atmosphere: 9/10 There was nice decor and paintings
Busy: 7/10 It was lunchtime and there were large groups of construction workers, but they weren't loud or obtrusive.
Value: 4/10 I ordered the philly cheesesteak pizza and there was hardly any meat on it. See the pic with this review
Overall: 5/10 When I return to Smith Mountain Lake, I don't think I'll come back to Joe's. A lot of room for...
Read moreThe first time we went it was for the Sunday morning brunch buffet. It was fantastic! There's a huge variety of foods and everything was hot (that was supposed to be!). The place is pretty nice inside, and clean. The next time we went for lunch. The fact that the place was empty at noon should have been a big red flag. But we sat down and ordered a pizza anyway. Big mistake. The crust was soggy, greasy and tasteless pepperoni, rubbery cheese. How can they call themselves a pizza place when the pizza is so nasty? The service was pretty bad too. I'd go back for the brunch buffet but that's it. I give them five stars for the buffet and one...
