This event happened literally less than five minutes ago. My family and elderly grandmother came to this establishment to use the restroom after a long day of driving and to pick up dinner. There was about 3 cars in the drive thru on our arrival. My grandmother, mother and daughter went to order while my son and I finished using the restroom. My elderly grandmother and mother stood there about 5-10 minutes after a tall bald employee said he’d take our order we waited and waited and I came from the restroom asking another employee who was purchasing a drink at the register if he could take our order. He told us no one would take our order and to use the kiosk which we were unfamiliar with. My mother asked why couldn’t they check us out if the other man said someone would be right with us. The tall bald man told us he was checking out the drive thru first who was here before us…at this point it had been about 15-20 minutes of being in this establishment, the wait so long my children went to the play area and only two cars in the drive thru which the three that had been there when we arrived were already gone. The man kept saying he would get to us and never did at that point i told my mother I don’t want to eat here my mother went to the restroom while my elderly grandmother and I went to take the children to the car who were exhausted and hungry at this point since the workers refused to assist us after my mother asked if it would be better if we went thru the drive thru to which the tall bald man replied someone will be with you and we had been nothing but polite and patient and now being frustrated because we just want to order, eat and go home facing many hours ahead. My mother goes to the restroom and a male of Caucasian descent walks in uses the restroom and approaches the register the tall worker immediately stopped taking orders from the window and went to assist this Caucasian male. My mother approached the tall worker and asked why he immediately took this man’s order after we had waited for so long he said we were “wrong to roll up on him” when we questioned what was taking so long. We are educated women of African descent and were nothing but patient and respectful and when we “questioned this worker because of the extensive wait” he decided to ignore us. But when the a Caucasian male walked in he immediately served him. This was nothing but racism at its core and McDonald’s should be ashamed to employee...
Read moreHorrible experience with manager Yohana. I pulled in drive thru at 505am, the guy taking orders asked me 4 times for the code, turned out he didn't know how to put it in, okay I get it he must be new. I started my order "bacon biscut meal with a large sweet tea light ice." He didnt know how to ring it up. He put the bacon biscuit on the screen but didnt know how to make it a meal. He asked me to pull to then first window. He asked his manager Yohana, for help she showed him, then he asked my drink again i said large sweet tea light ice. Then I was paying with a gift card, he didn't know how to run the gift card. If they ran footage you could see him insert the card like a chip card, then try to find where to put it on the monitor screen, I finally told him to swipe like a credit card, he did it backwards the first time then halfway swiped, then full swipe. It didn't work so he call Yohana back over she said "what it's not working?" He struged his shoulders & she pressed the screen, swiped the card & looked at at him "I don't see what the problem was". I think he was too embarrassed to say he didn't know how to processes a gift card. When I pulled up to the second window to get my food, The lady hand me my bag and a medium sweet tea. I said it's supposed to be a large sweet tea light ice. She hollered for the manager. She came to the window asked for the receipt, I told her I said a large sweet tea & he rang it up wrong. She then spoke into her headset & asked him. He said I said medium tea. I told her no, I said my order like 5 times, I asked for a large sweet tea. She told him on the headset I said it 5 times & then told me he said I didn't. I told her I can tell he is new, you had to help him ring up the order, he didn't know how to use a gift card & you have a head set on so you should of heard me ordering & repeating myself. The receipt says 506am, it is now 5:16am. It's taken 10 minutes all because he isn't properly trained. Then she wanted to argue back & forth about being respectful. I did not raise my voice, I explained my experience to her from the start. I asked who her store manager was she said her, I said who is your district manager, she said her. So she is lying too. I really hope Welburn Management reviews the footage & contacts me on this complaint. The footage of the guy in the first window alone will show how lost he is. I really hope he...
Read moreSince I "deserved a break," I chose to dine in with my mobile order and specified with the app that it be delivered to my table (table 101). The app told me to wait at my table for service and did not even tell me the order number. There were a couple of people waiting for their orders, and after a few minutes, they cleared out, and at least one staff member appeared to be idle. Yet my order did not arrive. From my seating position, shown in the photo, I could see the ordering counter but not the take out counter or the status display screen (and no need to). A few more minutes, and my small order was uncharacteristically late for a McDonald's. Another customer was at the counter getting ready to order, and my perplexed stare caught the eye of the order taker, who said to me, "Excuse me? Are you waiting for the mocha?" I was (and a sandwich). At this point, I believe I was the only customer seated at a table. The server indicated that my order was sitting on the counter waiting for me to come pick it up. I replied about the app having instructed me to wait at the table, then after fetching my own food, which was erroneously in a take out bag, although I elected to dine in, I apologized for not having understood the protocol and for doing what the app said. The server said nothing. Of course I said those things to prompt the apology that she owes me, but it was not forthcoming.
I'm sure that McDonald's has designed its food delivery processes to give customers choices. I am over 60, and I had just completed some errands that were severely taxing to my 1960 vintage body with chronic sciatic pain. I came in and sat down, electing to be served rather than fetch my own food, because I needed to take a break, and I was very hungry, not having eaten properly before leaving home. I wanted to sit at the table, rest my back, and enjoy my little break, not eat in the car.
The server was rude, and the service was poor that day. Next time I come here, I expect...
