(1/25--5/5)I'll fill in the details later since I need sleep, but this was an absolute delightful place to dine at. I loved everything about it from the atmosphere, waitress, and food. The ONLY thing I disliked and it was only a small bit, was the wooden benches. The Filet Mignon was amazing and delicious, I loved the entire 'service', our waitress was extremely nice I regret to say I don't remember her name (because it was date night and I was more focused on other things). But everything we were brought met or exceeded my expectations. The salad was fresh and looked/tasted good, the main course was excellent and cooked exactly how I wanted it with pretty much the perfect amount of searing on the edges like I wanted. Mashed potatoes tasted and looked fresh, but my favourite part almost more than the filet itself, was the dessert that came afterwards. I fell in love with the brownie delight (I'm a child at heart) and since it was freshly heated up, with the ice cream on top and the different chocolate and caramel sauces on the side for us to cover how we wanted made it even better.
(2/1--3/5) So, sadly I had to lower my rating from my previous review, I decided to go again this time as a place to meet up for a social event with some friends. Granted they were pretty busy so I can't blame them too much, but... the prices they charge (What I paid for in my other review was a special they had on Saturday), for the amount of stuff you get--if it's not a "Main Stay" is absolutely and utterly not worth it in my opinion. Our party tried various dishes between all of us, and not a single one of them except the steak was even remotely worth the price we paid. Their so-called "world famous" burgers and hot dogs, are the same--if not worse-- than the hotdogs you can buy in a frozen bag from a grocery store or even a dollar tree, and at least that way you get more than ONE. Just one, 'one' single hot dog, along with a salad and not even a full plate--but a HANDful of fries, was over $10 USD. Not for a full meal, but just a salad bowl, a single hot dog that wasn't even larger than 6'inches, and a small bit of fries that I could literally (I actually did this) hold in a single hand. It was, an absolute disappointment, I politely finished all my food, waited for the rest of my table to finish theirs, then I paid and left.
My recommendation, unless you're willing to spend over $15 for a Main Stay course meal, absolutely do not get anything else. UNLESS you come on a Saturday and go for their special, which I highly recommend as it does fairly price things and give you a "full course" of sorts. 2 x $40, you get two salads, two main stay entrees and a dessert to share. Now if you're to break that down on a non-special day? Let's use my previous experiences as an example--
1 Salad = $4 roughly(+2/5 for any additional stuff) Filet Mignon = $22 roughly. Ny Steak = $18 roughly. Brownie Delight = $5 roughly. On a non-special day, all this roughly adds up to about $50 or so, not including tax or drinks, and it's not even including a 2nd salad. On a special day, you can get all of that, and two salads for $40 + tax, that's it. Saves you about $10+ dollars depending on what you and whoever you're with want to order.
So, all-in-all, good place, over-priced unless you go on a special night or your order the cheaper main stays. Anything else, just isn't worth it. I have NOT tried any of their alcohol, as I don't drink--so they do have a bar, and I don't want this review to reflect anything on their bar, as I know nothing about that...
Read moreArrived around 1pm. No waiting for a table and were seated immediately. My sister and I ordered the French onion soup. I'm usually use to receiving a nice hot bowl covered with a nice big slice of French bread and covered in melted Swiss. This was hardly the case. Two cracker sized thin croutons with a teenie of slice Swiss cheese on each. Worse preparation of this soup Ive ever experienced. It tasted ok but mediocre. I ordered baked spaghetti. It wasn't even baked. They threw a couple of provolone slices on it, put it under the broiler. When I received it, it was warm and the cheese barely melted. Tasted like a bowl of canned spaghetti. No flavor. My sister ordered a salad with grilled chicken. Chicken was hardly cooked and raw in some places. The waitress was apologetic and didn’t charge us for it. Overall, one of the worst meals that we ever had. We will not be going back to this...
Read moreMe and my family love Melitos and frequent the location. We have always loved the food and atmosphere. Our waiter, Jillian E, simply should be fired, sorry. She didn’t refill our drinks, besides once, for the hour and half we were there. I have never waited so long in a restaurant it’s laughable. By the time we received our food it was cold, maybe that’s because the waitresses were talking and having fun in the back. I wasn’t aware they got paid to not do their job and talk. Since it was cold the food didn’t taste very good. I think our family will take a break from one of our old favorite places. Thanks Jillian E for an awful experience. Melitos needs to hire people who are competent and willing to do the job they signed up for. Seems like there’s a lot of new waiters which is very disappointing. Hopefully management can turn this place around. I’ve never seen the...
