Panera Bread — Restaurant in Virginia

I come here with my wife 1x to 2x a week, on average. Most of the time, the employees here are very nice and welcoming. It only takes one bad experience, however, to make me not want to return.

There was a young brunette girl at the front and this is the second time she's made a comment that made me feel like a piece of garbage, as if I am somehow below her, and stupid because I asked a question. I routinely come in here in the mornings to start my day fresh. The first time was me asking for help with a coupon and this employee was snarky, but I figured maybe she's having a bad day or something and just let it go. Today was the second time I interacted with her on different days and she was snarky and rude again. I spoke with a manager about this experience and hope this employee gets some training. I was not trying to get her fired, and I hope she wasn't. I just don't want to go into an establishment in the morning where I am a paying customer to start my day out and have an employee treat me like this. I know working these types of jobs can be difficult, as I worked jobs like this is my younger days. But I have never, in my life, spoke to customers rudely or made them feel stupid for asking a question; this is unacceptable. It is really unfortunate because both my wife and I enjoyed dining here, drinking coffee, and having a fast sit-down restaurant that I felt comfortable taking my kids to.

i use to eat at panera bread for lunch everyday but since they got a new GM it seems that panera and its food is trash , i love the old GM ashley she was so loving and made me feel like a was at home or i was a part of the panera family . she always greeted me when me and my friends came in for our daily lunch . when she was there it was like a warm feeling she brought . but now i just dislike panera i order a bacon turkey bravo and it had a bug in it , how ,i dont know . im not saying that the new GM is bad but he isnt ashley . its like the new GM dont have control NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO , of the people that sever the food there LOUD , one day i waited 20 mintues for my food because my buzzer didnt go off . now thats sad . if ashley was there im pretty sure that wouldn't happen . the drvie thru is slow ive never had to wait for a cookies and a drink for 15 minutes yall drive thru was so fast once upon a time in and out under 1 mintues now it stink i love all the old associates the girl with the red hair is the only one i see what happen the that teniishia girl or that karla girl or the guy i think his name was trusten i love them they was so nice they made sure that i got in and out and it if did take a few minute thay made sure that when i got to the window my Order Was Right and apologize for that wait if they left i probable would have to being that panera isnt the same i never thought that i would be saying this but panera is horrible, wasteful i dont WONT BE Referring PANERA to ANYONE until you get ASHLEY BACK AND THE OLD ASSOCIATES and JEN I...

Food here is as good as any other Panera Bread anywhere else you can find in the country but the service here, at this particular one, is neglectful. Solely, its the people on the front end. Each time I've come in thus far all I experience is that they want to socialize and chit-chat than actually serve their customers. Today I ordered my meal on the Kiosk for a pickup. It clearly after the purchase for me to enter my name so when my order is ready, someone will call me. I waited for a considerable amount of time before I grew frustrated. I went to the front to stand there and wait when the cashier asked me if I had been helped yet. I calmly explained I'm still waiting on my order when someone else spoke up to say "Oh, there was an order still sitting out here." I asked him pointedly "Why was my name not called?"
