I don’t ever do reviews, but this place will be the exception!
I had the opportunity to visit earlier today. It’s a lovely cafe + flower shop mix. Nice flower-filled interior to boot. I went to start with a small order. Barista suggested a chai + espresso shot, it was great; however, the main reason I came was for the flowers!
The barista suggested I check out what they had available in their flower display/fridge to get an idea + if I wanted to do an immediate purchase, while the florist would come shortly. The florist, a very polite and well-mannered lady, quickly greeted me and asked the general gist of questions along the lines of what I might be looking for, what occasion, color/designs, etc.
This was my first time ever having a florist do a bouquet, and I actually ordered 2 for different purposes, and it was awesome! You can tell they take great care with this stuff.
Product-wise: They are not in a rush to finish nor are they slow, the quality is great, well-detailed, and thoughtful. Got 2 bouquets, they offered vases, and I got those too along with some candles to match it up nicely; these were all mid-high end quality, probably comparable with stand-alone boutiques.
Service: Super. They care about what they do, along with your experience + delivering a solid product. During the making of the bouquets, the florist asked for my input and opinions on them and acted accordingly.
The pictures don’t do them justice, but the recipients loved them
Cool concept + well-executed. If you haven’t been here before, it’s...
Read moreWe had a lovely breakfast at a unique sandwich café and fresh flower shop in Arlington, Virginia. The shop's decoration featured lots of artificial flowers hanging from the ceiling and fresh flowers in baskets. This made it a charming place to enjoy fresh coffee and sandwiches in the heart of Arlington. The highlight of our breakfast was the Reuben sandwich, made with hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing on rye bread, and sauerkraut, which added extra texture and moisture to the sandwich. It was perfectly toasted with a hint of butter. The breakfast burrito with pork roll was decent, but the salsa verde with chili made it too strong for a breakfast dish. The cold brew coffee had a full acidity, the poppyseed crogel was chewy with a subtle onion flavor, and the pain de chocolate tasted as expected. The service was okay but could be improved, as well as the place's cleanliness. We had to wipe our table ourselves before enjoying breakfast because it was not clean. We have also observed that the ventilation system requires improvement as food smells remain...
Read moreAs I'm sure you know by now I really LOVE a good sandwich. I was on the hunt for a good sandwich for the France/Morocco world cup game and found Poppyseed Rye. Let me get it out of the way now. I will be going back!!!! The sandwich flavors and selection were great!!! A key item on any good sandwich is the bread. The best sub shops and deli's know this and so does Poppyseed Rye. We ordered their Bahn Mí and their Italian. The Bahn Mí was great. Really good flavors and a great roll. I would have liked a little more gochujang mayo and could do without the sesame sticks. But absolutely delicious. The Italian was unrivaled in flavor. Great amount of meats and oil and vinegar which resulted in a soggy roll towards the end which can be a pain to deal with but all in all a great experience. Also don't sleep on the house potato salad it was incredible. The service was great and it also doubles as a flower shop which totally adds to the...
