Primos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Virginia

NO BUENO!!! This was our 2nd time coming to the location. The 1st time they were extremely slow but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they had recently just opened but but not but recently I went up there with my family and there was literally only one table in there is there and the hostess sat us down. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and it sounded like a nightclub in the back which is pretty unprofessional in my opinion coming from the kitchen. However the plot thickens as I came back to my wife and daughter that had been sitting there nobody had came to our table and keep in mind there was only one table in the building that had anybody eating. Which I can see now why there was nobody in there. However there was some bus boy or a waiter that kept looking at us but never once had the nerve to come ask even what we wanted to drink but he sure looked at me when I walked out the door and didn't say a word because I did not get any service which is pathetic. Going past that Colonial Heights has plenty of of great Mexican restaurants whin restaurants which in fact we ended up going to one of my favorites Mi Rodeo. To some everything up the service sucks they are very slow the food is extremely overpriced and I use that term very lightly because it is. I get it if it was a 5 star Mexican restaurant which I have never stumbled across but it's not their food is fairly decent but nothing worth screaming about and their customer service offsets that to make it where I don't even know how they stay in business. Will not be returning. And I am a Prince George native I will go past this restaurant any day to go to another one that is established and price effective as well as decent people...

I had the beef enchiladas with rice and beans and my husband had the steak fajitas. I appreciate food Coming fast anywhere depending on the type of meal it is. My husband said he felt like the meat tasted old. My plate was pretty good but I also had ground beef which doesn’t take long to cook. I would like it if the enchiladas were more juicy (like have the sauce inside maybe?).

We had a really nice guy for a waiter. It looked pretty darn clean in that place, which I love and the sweet tea was good because every business makes sweet tea completely Different lol either too sweet, just right, or Not enough sugar.

It’s pretty inside and I liked that the host Asked where we wanted to sit instead of just seating us cause I’m a sucker for a pretty booth AND he brought us a sling for one of our kids without us even asking, that’s top tier service.

The rice omg super soft and the beans and the chips and salsa, overall the food is good in my opinion. The chips taste super fresh and as crazy as it sounds have a durable authenticity to them, different than any chips I’ve tasted before...

I just tried Primos for the first time today. It was really great. The staff were friendly. My food came quickly. I especially enjoyed the art on the walls.

I ordered something new to me, shrimp Sammy. It was actually pretty good. I'll definitely add it to my list of Mexican food faves.

This inside is fairly compact. I see this place expanding pretty quickly once word gets out about how good the food is.

My one complaint is that when my partner and I walked in, everyone who was eating turned to stare at us. It was really weird. I almost felt like I should walk back out. That's not the fault of the restaurant though. Not sure what it was about. We just ignored those folks and enjoyed the food. Eventually everyone stopped looking and went back to eating. By the time we left, nearly everyone was gone. 😁

High points: clean silverware and dishes, very clean restaurant, good music, great food and drink, quick service, affordable prices

I'll definitely eat there again. I wanna try...
