Verizon — Local services in Hopewell

Buyer Beware This store has some shady practices!! They DO NOT explain what all they are charging you for when you purchase a new phone, they give you an incomplete invoice that does not show the total bill. They charge a $30.00 "Water REDUX" protection plan fee without telling you (i called later to ask about this charge and was told "it comes with all of their phones"). Well, then that should have been explained to me at the time. And usually when something "comes with", theres not an extra charge unless you authorize it. If they offer you a Verizon Visa Credit card, they will use THAT to pay for your total bill without telling you your total and without asking how you would like to pay for it. I was NOT given a receipt and the ONLY thing I signed for was the credit card application. Also, MOST of their accessories dont have a price displayed on them. You might say, "Complain to the manager". Well that WAS the manager who I dealt with. Her name was Cierra. I regret not going to the Colonial Heights store like I usually do. Also, when I got home I was notified by Google that I had left a 5 star review for this store. I checked and sure enough there was a 5 star review with no comment. I did NOT leave a review until this one. The only person who had access to my phone during that time was Cierra. I'll leave that mystery for you to figure out. How many 5 star reviews on here were submitted by the actual customer?? Mine wasnt. I called the store today (8/29) to complain about my experience and was told if I wasn't happy with how they do things, I could just go to another store. I responded "no problem. Maurice was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and HELPFUL! He truly went above and beyond to get my account established ! I initially was working with a previous location and the manager there permitted a router that was ordered for me by another very helpful and attentive representative to be sold to another customer while she was on PTO! I in turn had to travel 50 miles to the WestPoint store to get one and continue my paperwork, etc! Maurice took over and hooked up everything verified all lines were up and running and promotion applied accurately, he is a valued employee or at least he should be! The whole time he was working solo and juggling each customer attentively, professionally, accurately, with kindness and genuine concern that we each got serviced and were 100% satisfied!…glad to have had his help and will be willing to travel 50 miles in the future to this location and work with a manager that has integrity, is professional, kind, respectful of their staff! Called yesterday to see if the Verizon store had what I wanted, the rep that answered was helpful. I came in today and left with more than I came in for. Amond told me about all the promotions that they had and tried to find a good deal that would work with my budget. I was able to upgrade my phone, get all the accessories necessary, and a free Apple Watch. He thoroughly explained everything that was included in the deal, the registration, provided the label and box for me to send back my old phone. He was friendly, very detailed, he had me laughing and just made the experience pleasant and easy. He’s a great asset to the Verizon store and I’ll definitely be back for any future purchases....
