Don’t you love a robust, flavorful pizza sauce?
I know I do!
And that’s just what I was offered from the moment I walked in the door at Sergio’s Pizza. Immediately, the strong, alluring aroma of garlic spread throughout the place, and I was ready to sit and order.
Lucky for me and my husband, there was a friendly employee ready to seat us as soon as we walked in.
Our host took us to a comfortable wooden table, complete with red cushioned booths. Looking around, there were several other tables of patrons, with their friends and families.
Our server showed up quickly, and was so friendly right away! She pointed out the local favorite on the menu, the Sexy Grandma Pan Pizza with creamy ranch, juicy chicken, and smoky bacon.
She also recommended the Mama Mia Detroit Style Pizza, which features luscious meatballs, brick cheese, and a hot honey drizzle.
We began our evening out with a refreshing hard cider and a fizzy diet cola. I love the classic childhood combination of a soda and pizza.
We were feeling adventurous, so we ordered the crispy toasted ravioli - a cheese and meat sampler, accompanied by a bright red marinara dipping sauce.
Oh, these toasted ravioli were delicious! They arrived at our table piping hot, and we enjoyed trying both flavors, meat and cheese. The meat melted in your mouth like butter, and the cheese had a fantastic flavor. We devoured these.
Not to stray from our tradition, we ordered a large N.Y. Style Pizza, topped with zesty Italian sausage, bitter green peppers, earthy mushrooms, and sweet onions. The crust was perfection, and from my experience, maybe a little thicker than some N.Y. Style pizzas I’ve had.
This was no issue for me; I loved the way the crust stood up to the marinara, and the toppings, and didn’t cave under the pressure of so much goodness. We really loaded our pie up!
As for the toppings, each was fresh, and slightly crispy, as they should be; full of flavors that’d you expect from peppers and onions. The mozzarella cheese was a generous, ooey-gooey layer that did not disappoint.
But what about that sauce? It delivered on flavor, from the fire roasted tomatoes to the basil, to the oregano and garlic. There was nothing lacking in this sauce. It was mouthwatering, and paired so well with the rest of the pizza.
With such a delicious dinner behind us, we had no space for dessert. Now, we plan on making a return trip soon, to try more of the menu.
Overall, the service was fast and friendly, and we waited for nothing. There were no long pauses or awkward silences, just tasty food. We can’t...
Read moreAfter seeing a video on social media, I knew I had to come try this place out! I did a pick up order via their website on a Friday night. I did arrive at the restaurant a little bit before my pick up time and it was pretty busy. However, the restaurant looks spacious and I did see that they have a whole bar as well as desserts near the pick up window. While waiting for my food, I was able to sit down at the bench that they use for awaiting parties (def good for groups).
We ordered the Renzo special pizza, mozzarella logs, and spinach & artichoke dip. Everything was perfectly hot once I arrived home. The pizza was amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever had a pizza with vodka sauce and I love vodka sauce pasta. I am a sausage girl … it’s my favorite pizza topping and when I tell you, the sausage alone has me ready to go back there to try something else. Also, my fiancé and I shared this pizza and we still had seconds the next day and the pizza reheated very well in the oven .The mozzarella logs were huge and very tasty. And I did love that the Spanish artichoke dip was topped with bacon. I don’t think I’d ever had that combination, but it made for a good one. I will say the dip is served with a bread so if you’re worried about eating a lot of bread, then maybe opt for another appetizer, but we had chips at home and it was perfect. All in all ease of ordering, Customer Service, value, and for sure food will have me visiting...
Read moreMy waitress a blonde girl named Stephanie gave terrible service. When I went the restaurant it was pretty slow and I was a solo diner at her only table. It took her over 15 minutes to take my drink order alone. After I placed my order she did not come back to my table once, and I didn't see her in the restaurant to call her over. This was about 40 plus minutes. After waiting forever I went to the bar and asked if they could call my waitress. The nice lady at the bar gave me a refill and placed my dessert order. Then 10 minutes later Stephanie comes by without any apology or remorse to ask if I want the cake to go. She brings the cake and tells me that I need to pay up front. She does not come back to my table until I call her over for a box for my dessert which she grudgingly gives and dips. She does not come back once. I go to the front to pay and they tell me that my waitress is supposed to take my bill. They then call her over and she denies telling me to pay up front. She hands me the machine and asks me to leave her a tip. My tip would be that if you expect to receive 20% or evwn 15% you should check back at least once on your only table and maybe offer a refill or a to-go box. I heard great things about Sergio's but was disappointed in the service and the food was alright. Maybe if I had a competent waiter I would have had a better time. She was not new and her unprofessional behavior is...
