I visited this location on a casual Sunday afternoon, hoping for a break from the usual Chop't experience. There was no line and the restaurant was empty, perfect for getting in and out on a working weekend. I ordered the Fish Taco warm bowl as my first experience with SweetGreen. The prep was quick and the server was pleasant enough. Unfortunately that is all of the positives I can really say about the experience. The greens and cabbage were unremarkable and with no real distinction from similar salad places. The hot sauce and cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette added a much needed kick of flavor to the bowl. The most disappointing aspect of the meal however was the paltry amount of roasted Steelhead (salmon's sustainable cousin) provided; roughly one to two ounces at best. As a whole the serving size of the salad in general was quite small compared to other eateries, if not for the quinoa I would venture to say that the salad would have been unsatisfying. With the whole meal clocking in at a whopping $13.48, I have to say that the whole meal was not worth the price tag. Long story short: Not worth the cost, if you want similar flavor with a more reasonable price tag look into another establishment. If you want to Insta your lunch and tell your followers about your responsibly raised and sourced meal; this is your place.
Overall: 4 on the salad/ 2 on the price...
Read moreI ordered a steak salad with Brussels sprouts added which I didn’t think was too complicated. As they started to make it, the workers seemed confused and then asked me how much dressing I wanted but were pointing at a salad that was ahead of me and wasn’t mine. I tried to explain that that wasn’t my salad and then all three of the workers started talking to each other in Spanish seemingly frustrated. Then one of them asked if I wanted Brussels sprouts but was holding the other order that wasn’t mine. I said “yes but that’s not my order”. This conversation was repeated 3 times before one of the workers exasperatedly took the other order away and huffed as she threw it on the counter behind her. The other worker then put the dressing on my salad and didn’t add any Brussels sprouts. By the time the cashier asked me if I wanted to add anything else I just said no because I was so confused about what was happening. Lol Might not visit this location again because of how...
Read moreI have been walking past SweetGreen in Rosslyn for four years, thinking it was a boring salad shop. Recently, SweetGreen donated lunch to the ENT department of Georgetown University Hospital and I had the chance to eat one of the most spectacular salads I have ever had. It had warm mushrooms, baked tofu, and this incredible ginger dressing. I found myself stalking their website this morning, drooling slightly, thinking of when I could go back. Lo and behold, they provided lunch again! I write this review with kale poking out of my mouth and making lots of "yummy" noises. I can't wait to explore more of their menu! I am also so grateful that SweetGreen has been involved in feeding the front line of the hospital. Who knew I could love...
