The Best Breakfast Sandwich I have ever eaten, hands down, is the Otto Superiore ($6.5; scrambled egg, bacon, pimento cheese, pickled red onion, pickled jalepeno, cilantro, and jalapeno aioli, which can be on the side).
You order it at the food hall's coffee joint, Lightning Coffee, but it is made the next stall over, at Ghostburger. Most other breakfast sandwiches need an added kick, like hot sauce or ketchup, but this thing is a flavor explosion...
It starts with a soft, chewy, and sweet grilled potato roll.
The egg is less scrambled and more like a nice caramelized fold, which makes it less messy to eat.
Generous servings of fresh cilantro, pickled onions, and picked jalapenos give it so much flavor, and the onions provide a nice crunch.
The bacon was plentiful and surprisingly crispy, far from the typically limp and soggy offerings found on other brekkies out there.
And the gooey and slightly melting pimento cheese is likely to spill onto your plate and down your chin, but you won't care as your eyes roll up into the back of your head as you wonder if there is some such thing as a food orgasm.
I got the dark aioli on the side, and smeared it on several bitten edges, but with so much flavor already in each bite, it was hard to tell how much more it was adding.
Anyway, I should have taken a photo of it for you all, but I didn't think I was going to write a review, and I gobbled that thing down in awe. Then, I was compelled to hunt down the Upside manager to tell him to get Tik-Tok and Instagram influencers to come in to film and review this exact sandwich. I, myself, am not an influencer, but he said a Google Review might help, so here I am.
Do yourself a big favor: come visit Upside (again, or for the first time), to meet your new best friend, Otto Superiore. Then wander around this amazingly spacious, clean, and stylish food hall with very unique and intriguing international concepts, and plot out future visits for lunch, happy hour, and dinner, to try all the other dishes available here, some of which aren't likely found anywhere else.
So much Upside, and Otto...
Read moreI never leave reviews—especially poor ones— but I had such a bad experience here that I felt compelled to share it.
Came here for the first time for an improv comedy show. Decided to eat dinner, will not be doing that again. Horrible experience here. The waitress essentially threw our plates at us like a Frisbee, until inevitably they spilled a drink on one of the other customers. Now I see why tips are required, I don’t imagine anyone would want to tip such rude staff.
I ordered the ahi tuna nachos, which gave me food poisoning the next day. Aside from the poorly prepared food, it was also comically overpriced. That in combination with the included gratuity felt like highway robbery.
It’s a shame because this food hall seems like it would’ve been a great concept, but the rude service, unsafe food preparation, and the insanely high prices make it a place that I will not be returning to nor...
Read more*updating my rating/review, my initial review was very harsh but I sincerely appreciate response from owner.
Not very hungry thought I would order a simple appetizer "chicken strips & fries" picture in menu looks great, nice freshly battered chicken strips, what I received was a frozen Tysons chicken equivalent. Manager came by, I mentioned the issue & his response was "I'll talk to the chef" as if reheating a precooked/processed chicken tender was the chefs mistake?
About 15minutes later, no response, no "our mistake, our chicken order was delayed" or any other reason provided. So I flagged a waitress to grab the manager who had not returned back. He came out, mentioned he talked to the chef & "of course we're going to comp the dish", in my opinion that is something he should have mentioned up front or come back sooner but I was appreciative...
