Just a warning we went on a rainy day so it was a bit dark in there. I saw an older couple next to us use a small flash light in order to read the menu. Aside from that, the atmosphere of the place was great. One of the tv's played kpop and jpop old and new. The place looked really clean and they had plenty of seating all around which is great for groups. Now as for the service, everyone was very friendly and they tried their best to make sure you were doing alright. As far as the actual food it took a bit longer than what you would expect from a fast food ramen shop. They are notoriously fast but it was not a bad wait just wanted to make sure no one went in with unrealistic expectations. The food overall was very good. We chose the yakitori, pork bun and 2 tonkotsu ramen. The yakitori was tender and juicy. This particular restaurant uses dark meat for their yakitori most places I go to use white meat. Regardless it's worth trying out. The pork bun is the only thing that disappointed me due to its size. It's similar to a slider. Otherwise the flavor was there and it was very good. Lastly was the ramen itself. Tonkotsu is a pork based ramen. It's meant to be hardy, a little thick and most importantly flavorful. It hit all the right notes it was great. They give you a good portion I couldnt finish all of mine. For 2 people it came out to $30. Not super cheap but if you want some good authentic ramen I sincerely recommend checking this place out.

Came for their grilled squid and a bowl of hot ramen. Truly was somewhat satisfied until the ramen was presented. Let’s start from the beginning with the squid. Tender whole squid, tasty teriyaki sauce, not too chewy. The hood had some grit but we didn’t complain. Ordered the spring rolls to come with my ramen but it was served much prior and was highly disappointing. Barely as long as two digits of my finger, 3 for 4.50. Super over priced and the picture of them on the menu is deceiving, to say the least. Now on to this Spicy Miso Ramen. Presentation was decent but I noticed the corn immediately and fairly, I didn’t read the ingredients but I’ve NEVER had corn in my ramen. Super weird concept to me. The broth was not hot in temperature nor taste. I could have added the chili sesame oil but didn’t want to add more saturated fat. The boiled egg was ICE cold and gray, appearing old so I put it to the side. The pork meat was seasoned strangely and a bit dry, even being submerged in broth. The noodles were very tasty and springy and the other veggies were fresh and tasty. My husband got the curry dish and he was fine with it. It was also an off putting gray color but he said the taste was ok. All around, for this being my first time trying Takara, I was not very happy leaving $67 to this establishment.

This little place is packed with huge flavor! I came to visit in my quest of Richmond’s best ramen. I found this little place cozy and inviting. The severs are helpful and polite. The stools are way more comfortable than they look. They are made from recycled cork. The tables are handmade and everything appears to be clean and orderly. Now... about the food. Ramen 🍜 is all about the broth and what you combine with it. You can have a great base but the wrong combination of ingredients can turn the broth upside down! I am please to announce that the miso, the vegetable and the chushu bun was amazing. Everything was fresh and appealing to the eyes. This is definitely one of my favorite spots if not my number one spot. I highly recommend you stopping by for a taste of this little place. ****update. Took my mom and older brother to get their reaction... I was so proud of my 74 year old mother who used chopsticks 🥢 for the first time and crushed it!!! My brother on the other haaaaaaand... lets just say a run of soke and a fork later he also had fun.

I came in with high expectations, however I left a little disappointed. I arrived at 2:50p only to be told the place will be closing at 3p. So, it automatically made me feel I had to RUSH in eating. I ordered the Takara Tonkotsu Ramen, however I asked if the soft boiled egg could be hard as I do not like runny eggs. The server said this is how we serve it, however we can take it out. I elected for the egg to be removed, thinking I am glad when I eat breakfast out, I do not have to eat my eggs the way the Chef feels is best for me. The dish came out, and I noticed how little broth it had in the bowl for the amount they were asking in cost. The broth, was only warm as I am thinking they had turned the stove off with the anticipation of the 3p closing. Upon eating the Ramen Noodles, I thought they were good, however I wondered if they were the same Ramen Noodles I buy at the store. I am thinking now that they have cases of Ramen Noodles in the back and they open each package for each order. Personally, I thought it was a little over priced for what you receive especially in the lack of broth in the bowl I received. I may be back, but not anytime in the near future. Too many places around who have excellent noodle soup which is served hot and lots of broth and will make it to order. Very disappointed that they did not take the time to cook...
