Kickback Jack’s — Restaurant in Virginia

Horrible experience!! Went to a birthday celebration for my niece and told the waitress I wasn’t staying long because I had a massage appointment. I was the first of my party to place my order and I was very specific about my order being Togo. Needless to say, several entrees came out before mine and when I questioned the waitress she said the kitchen put the order on plates but she told them to correct it and it shouldn’t be much longer. Several minutes later, my food came out and I was ready to pay and leave. I checked my bag and it was all wrong. I ordered 30 wings ( 10 dry rubbed, 10 honey barbecue, and 10 sweet Thai chili) a Pepsi, and a crab cake sandwich meal. My problem was that all 30 wings were in the same box mixing all the sauces. When I asked why they weren’t in separate boxes, the waitress said she wasn’t sure why and that she could redo it. I explained that I didn’t have time for a redo and I needed her to adjust the price because I didn’t want them mixed otherwise I would have ordered one type. She got the manager and he was very rude! He justified the fact that the wings were placed in one container unless specified and that he wasn’t adjusting the bill. I explained to him that I thought it was common knowledge with people having food allergies or when ordering multiple flavors, they would be separate. The only way I would have known, was if I was an employee or if that would have been explained. He offered to remake the wings and I told him I don’t have time to wait, I have an appointment. So I then said, well since this can not be adjusted you may take your 30 wings back and adjust my ticket accordingly. He says, this is not how this works. You can’t place an order and say you don’t want it. I told him, this is how it was going to work today cause I’m not paying for dry rubbed Thai chili honey barbecue. He went on an on and to my understanding, he finally came to his senses and was going to adjust the bill and give me the wings. At least that’s what I thought. Instead, he took the wings and the waitress brought my adjusted ticket back. When I asked the waitress why he took the wings if he was going to give them to me she said he was going to remake them. I was furious and confused. I just told him I had to go and couldn’t wait for him to redo it. I asked my sister to just get the wings before she left because I had to go. During my massage, my sister called and said he never brought the wings back. My experience at this location was horrible, traumatizing, and shocking I had heard so many good compliments about this place I was shock that my first visit was the worst and I will never go back to this location. 1. the hostess did not greet my friends an family, we had to walk up to them just to get noticed they were all talking to each other. 2. when we got to our table we had ask our server to recommend a drink because we had never been there and she stated " she was only 19 and she can't drink" now all servers are supposed to know the drink and food menu. 3. when the rest our guest got to the table we ordered our food and I ordered the ribs and shrimp my fries was hard and small which they gave me all the fries from the bottom of the bag, my husband ordered the old fashion burger and he received that 20 minutes after I got my food. the server had forgot to put his order in which she did apologize for. But we never complained. 4. when one of my guest showed up she had her vapor cigarette and one of the waitress very rudely told her " you cant smoke that in here" now all she had to ask her was to go out to the patio and smoke. 5. we went over to the pool tables and the guy that was doing security was abrupt he kept asking us to stop being loud which we were only cheering each other on and laughing with other guest. we wasn't bothering or interrupting the other guest and employees around us. Now he did that for at least 2 hours. One of my friends were laughing so hard she fell off the stool on to the floor and he came over and said " you have to leave" so I walked over to the bartender and ask what was the policy for the pool tables did we have to play quietly and the bartender said " I don't see anything wrong with you guys laughing and cheering each other on so then I asked for a manager so we could get the issue resolved and when he came over I asked him the same question I asked the bartender and he said " that we had to keep it down" now it was other guest laughing and being loud but he never walked to them and told them to be quiet. So I told the manager that if you put a pool table in a restaurant/ sports bar that's what you would get people laughing and cheering each other on especially if it inexperience females playing against men. So I told him I paid my money to play and that we were going to finish our game but after the manager and three security men kept being rude and couldn't answer my questions I asked for my money back for the pool table and told them we will leave. The first time we went was on a Wednesday night and the food was good and the restaurant/bar was pretty quiet. However, the next time we went was on a Thursday night. Everything was good until the football game started around 8pm. After that it got extremely too loud. To make matters worse, our waitress was extremely inattentive so we had to wait forever for our check. By the time we left I had a huge headache that I couldn't get rid of. My advice is if you don't like loud environments, make sure you are out of there before 8pm on Thursdays. Kind of sucks because Thursday is wing night and I absolutely loved the wings.

UPDATED REVIEW: Here we are 7 months after my first review and I have NOTHING good to report. We went again on a Thursday, specifically for wing night... Ordered wings and even mentioned wing night. Our server never told us that wing night was simply not a thing anymore. (She was an absolutely horrible server). We ordered appetizers first, then dinner. Everything was brought to the table at the same time. The photo is of 2 orders of boneless BBQ wings. Completely different, different sauce amounts, different wing sizes, when they should look and be about the same. Even had different amounts in each basket. My significant other ordered a dinner that came with loaded mashed potatoes, but opted for a side salad instead of the potatoes. He didn't receive the potatoes (which is what he wanted) but was charged the full add on price for the tiny side salad. We had to ask for to-go boxes more than once and to top the night off . . . I ordered a piece of cheesecake to-go. We waited for 20 minutes for the cheesecake and I still had to get up to go ask about it myself. Worst experience so far! Even worse than the football, headache night and that was right rough. Needless to say I don't think I will be back.
