Our office is located at the towers crescent building in Vienna. The tower club is located on the 17th floor of the building. I’m not a member of the tower club, but my bosses are and they have invited me to the tower for breakfast/ lunches and meetings a couple of times. I have heard that they have another formal room, but i have only eaten at the crescent cafe so this review is only for the crescent cafe and the tower club reception.
You have to either be member of the tower club or a guest of the member to eat at the cafe. As far as I know, the monthly fee to be a member is $250 per month. Members share workplaces at the club tower. I have seen so many people working on the terrace on their computers. They also have separate, semi-private rooms that members can use to for meetings or presentations...members also get parking discounts and enjoy unlimited fresh homemade cookies, fruits and coffee.
As far as service is concerned - the servers were always friendly! However, a tower club receptionist wasn’t very friendly and downright rude. I showed up wearing a nice dress which length was just above knees. It is the typical formal summer dress. It wasn’t showing skin except in the back, it shows a very little of my bra straps. The young lady told me I could not be there because I violated their dress code. She said I had to cover my shoulders and no bra straps allowed. So I politely left. A couple of days later, I went back with my bosses and as I sat down - I observed a lot of young women coming in and out wearing far more skin revealing outfit and the very same young lady - didn’t say anything! I saw her greeting them in and out. So I almost got up and asked her why she didn't bring up the dress code violation to the ladies but yet days before she made sure I was turned away...but then realized it wasn’t worth my time.
Enough about her. Food was okay. I had the lobster egg benedict, it was okay. I wasn’t blown away. It was egg Benedict with a few lobster meat on top. I had have got their Colorado omelet with fries. Again, it was okay. Not bad but didn’t taste amazing. I had also have their chicken tortilla soup, which was very good. And lastly had their fish - it was okay but a bit bland and bitter...
Read moreLet me begin by saying I am a control freak and finding the right venue and vendors was important to me so that on my special day I could let go of control and just enjoy. That is exactly what I was able to do thanks to the Tower Club, Alena who coordinated everything with us there, and my vendors. Alena was attentive from day 1 and helped me sort through the clutter from choosing seating arrangements, coordinating with a vendor who brought in chairs, napkins, and table covers, and helping my coordinator ensure every last detail was perfect. The venue is SPECTACULAR, my guests couldn't stop talking about the view and the delicious food which our Chef so expertly prepared. We have 2 experienced Chefs who attended (the best man and maid of honor) and they were blown away by the food! For them to say everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned really takes a lot and they absolutely approved of the filet and the grouper! I had a few guests show up who did not RSVP and my special dance slideshow videos were not finished until the night before the wedding, and yet everyone had a seat, food to eat, and my videos made it up on the TV during my special dances! While I won't disclose how much I spent, I will say that the Tower Club gave me a venue and service that was worth so much more than I actually paid. Comparing to other venues it was more affordable, and the venue was clean, had a beautiful view. My husband and I are so glad we chose them for our...
Read moreWhen most people think of the Tower Club, they don’t think of it as a culinary destination or a contender among the area’s best restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised by a recent dinner at the Club. As a foodie, I have been extremely hard pressed to find ‘stand-out’ dining experiences in Northern VA since I moved here 4 years ago from NYC - but I think I’ve found a keeper.
Have you ever had one of those magical dining experiences where everything is just perfect? The menu selections and food suggestions, the quality and execution of the meal and the impeccable service made for a wonderful evening. The kind where you purposefully linger over the last bite of every morsel. From the seared scallop with blood orange appetizer to the homemade gnocchi with poached lobster and crawfish cream that I had, and the perfectly grilled ribeye with compound butter and potato galette that my dinner companion had to the raspberry soufflé with crème anglais - the food was superb.
Well done! I’ll be looking forward to my next dining experience...
