Let me just start by saying that I [usually] like this place, so, I was taken aback by the experience I had with another customer that was witnessed and ultimately minimized by staff/my waitress. Our food had arrived to our table in one of the cushioned seated areas outside. My husband had just stepped away to the restroom and I was with my baby, preparing his food. A woman walks up to us and asks us if we were staying for trivia night. Unbeknownst to me, I said maybe and asked what time it starts. It was about 6:20 at the time and she replied, 7. I told her I wasn’t sure if we’d stay, but we’ll see, just so she could leave me alone. Next, she says well we're going to need your seats and proceeds to wait for me to get up to move. I look around and there’s barely anyone there yet for said trivia night and there are other families occupying the other cushioned seated areas. I immediately felt singled out and it felt like a restaurant in the 1950s, where Black people were not welcomed or were designated to sit in a different area, as I was the only Black patron outside. After confirming with my waitress that there were no reserved areas for this trivia night, and that everyone and anyone could sit wherever they liked, I politely went over to the woman and told her that we were not playing trivia nor are we leaving our table. Just before we were done with our meal, I went inside to pay the bill and that’s when my waitress apologizes to me. This was even more upsetting because I believe she was only apologizing to be able to get a tip. Why not apologize when it happened? Even further, why not speak up or call your manager to call out this woman’s poor behavior and harassment? When you don’t speak up about these kind of experiences, they get swept under the rug and YOU become complicit! Paying customers shouldn’t be able to harass other...
Read moreLet me start off by saying, this is not against the servers and bartenders. My issue is with Rachel, she is in charge of the events. She never informed the staff a large private party was coming from 4-7. The area I spent $150 on for three hours was NOT set up, missing chairs, chairs still on the tables, a nasty dirty pop up table was left up stairs. The servers did fine with what they had. However I do wish they were a bit more attentive to our party, but again they had no idea 40+ people were coming.
I also had the worst experience trying to even reserve our party. Rachel took forever to respond. I had to call the restaurant several times to get her to reply back to my emails. She was beyond unprofessional. I had to go to the restaurant to sign our agreement, no big deal. However, when I arrived I was told the agreement was upstairs in the office, I sat and waited about 20 minutes before being told the printer isn’t working. So the agreement was never given to anyone to give to me. Then they had to call Rachel to bring it by, when she arrived it had been 35 minutes of waiting. She gave it to me and never went over a single thing ( menu selection and things like that). She walked away from me for close to 10 minutes talking to everyone. Meanwhile I’m trying to get her attention to ask the questions I needed answers for, but I ended up giving up on those. Rachel needs to either be retrained, or have someone micromanage her until she can do her job correctly. I know for a fact I’m not the only person she’s done this too. This is so unprofessional and such a bad look for...
Read moreCome on folks. I heard so many great things about you and on my first visit: I walk in and wait by the sign that says "wait to be seated" for a good five minutes. The joke time, I see five of the staff standing in the kitchen looking over one girl's shoulders at her phone. Five (or so minutes) later, the video they were all watching must have ended, because the group broke up. I asked to order a pizza to go and I was told to order it from the bar, then she walked off without offering any additional information. Eg, what side of the bar, right side of the bar, Center, flag down the bartender... something.
Traffic in the bar seemed extremely low, so I'd have to say it was an off hour for they. It took the better part of 30 minute to receive my order. A waiter, I hadn't seen yet at this time, brought it out to the table. He hurriedly said "sorry for the wait" and rushed off. I still hadn't paid. A less scrupulous man might just leave at this point. But I called him back asking where should I pay. Surprised, he took the pizza back and said "oh, you haven't paid?" without another word, gave the pizza to the bartender... I guess I'll pay her then...
The pizza extremely small for the price of $14 and very greasy. The first piece just fell apart leave me with just a crust and two inches of Pizza.
Sals pizza on South Crater Rd... Twice the size, half the price, holds together, and a lot more variety. I don't think I'll be going back to...
