Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia

The Tropical Smoothie at Plaza America is an absolute mess. Today, 8/12/2019, I was second in line when I arrived so I was guessing that the wait time wouldn't be terrible. I ordered my smoothie then waited...and waited...people who ordered smoothies AFTER me began getting their smoothies...in fact, 6 smoothies came out for people who ordered after me. I got back in line and waited until the cashier was done socializing with other customers before I was able to request my money back. The inept staff looked puzzled but my request was finally met. The cashier spoke with the manager and he immediately began making my smoothie but by this time I had already wasted half of my lunch break. When I asked the manager why this happened, I was given a made up response about the receipt machine needing changed, which is how it got missed. I don't agree and feel like I was just given a made up excuse because I did in fact see the manager change the receipt paper in the back, but well after other people began getting their smoothies. So apart from wasting my time, I was then lied to when all they really had to do was own their actual mistake. I left with my money back and having refused a quickly made up smoothie, which I'm sure wasn't made to the original specifications when I initially ordered. Terrible service as usual, Tropical Smoothie. I only ever bought from you because you're close to my work but I can assure you I'll never be back and will be telling my coworkers about how little you think of...

This is the second time I had a distasteful experience at this location. The first incident I had placed my order online and went to pick it up. When I picked it up there were several drinks on the counter, I asked which one was mine. The person at the counter said, “the one that says your name.” I said, okay well there’s no sticker on a few of them. So she huffed, turned one of the cups around and said…”Here!” I walked out and left it at that. Second incident was this evening. I came in at 8:45pm, when I walked in they were playing loud music. They were clearly ready to close because all three individuals were in the back, one was mopping, the other sweeping, and another was wiping the counter. I said, “excuse me”, no one answered. So I said, “hello?!” Again, no answer. So finally I yelled, “HELLO” and the one sweeping came to the counter. She took my order and then went to the back to make it. I ordered my smoothie with Soy protein. I got to my car and tried to sip my drink and it was stuck. When I got home, i dumped out my smoothie and at the bottom was a pile of the soy protein. It wasn’t even mixed in, it was so disgusting. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location. Customer service was horrible not once...

My first time here... I ordered the detox green and it has a lot more ginger in it and less of other flavor than the one I got from Liberia, Manassass, which was delicious. It tasted like I'm drinking a watery green ginger smoothie. I don't plan on trying this location again. I should have read the reviews for this location. When I placed a mobile order, the Centreville Rd, Herndon, location would keep it in the fridge until I get there to pick up. This location, it is left on the mobile pick up table. Fortunately, I was only a few store away when I placed the order. Otherwise, the smoothie would start to warm to room temperature before pick up. Recommend placing a fridge by the pick up table to keep the smoothie cold and from melting. The lady working there was OK but she did say thank you before I walked out. The doors on the inside has no handles? This store is much smaller than the Herndon location, and the Manassas location is the biggest of the 3. Overall, of the 3 locations that I have gotten smoothie from, this is my least favorite with Manassas being my favorite. I do like that this location has tables outside, which could be because the space...
